Re: The 2014 ClanRam Voting Mock Draft (Post-Combine Ed.)

Seattle doesn't have much in the way of need. They could use a DE if they allow Bennett to walk, especially if they can't count on former 1st round pick Bruce Irvin to provide some pass rush help.

They cut Red Bryant as well.

That being said, Russell WIlson needs targets, as you have to have SOME offense long term to win consistently. Seattle doesn't get much from the TE or their WR, and Golden Tate may not be back. Sid Rice is already gone.

Don't see Seattle not adding a WR in FA or in the draft, and they will do it early if they have not signed one, maybe even if they have.
HOWEVER, Seattle and Carroll don't draft like anyone else, are always prone to the big surprise.

So I'm gonna go with DE DeMarcus Lawrence, one of the best pass rushers in the draft. Yes, he is a tweener, and so was Irvin. Carroll loves these kind of guys

The Seahawks are weak at the TE position.

    Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington

Zach Miller is still just 28, so it's not a gigantic need, and he is getting $7 million, so they must like him SOME. They just don't throw to the TE much as they run so much

I'll go with Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia to Seattle to fill/upgrade the RT spot.

Im going to go with Jordan Matthews. Sidney Rice was a disappointment so they grab someone to replace him and complement their shorter wr's.

All I can say with Pete Carroll, is he goes for defensive guys with top flight measurables, and offensive linemen on draft day. He cannot resist pass rushers, and he is losing Bennett perhaps.

I wish we knew if he was gone for sure, but it seems like he will be heading out.

I would not even be shocked if Carroll took Carlos Hyde or especially Bishop Sankey.
