It was a really tough call for me.

In the end, I just feel like Dennard is more likely to be an elite player than Lewan. I could certainly be wrong, but there you have it.

Of course, I would have taken Matthews or Robinson at No. 2, which would have meant we would have had the OT and the CB in Round 1.

Round two receiver? How about the Rams taking one of the top TE's that may slip down in the draft? A pairing of Jared Cook and an Amaro/Jenkins? Sam has always shown in game that he can find that open tight end, so how about adding a pass catching option there could help the offense move the chains? I agree that the second round pick should be used to help the offense albeit on the line or options for Bradford.

I guess it depends on how the coaches feel about Kendricks? I mean, it's not the most logical option for my mind given what we have on the roster and the general lack of depth at TE in this class, but if there's a prospect they love and he's going to contribute in a different way to Cook then I'm all about it.

Meanwhile, the selection of Ebron by Kansas City is my favourite pick in this Mod Mock so far. Nice surprise, AV!

    Thanks.

I'm intrigued by the run on CBs - 5 taken between picks 11 and 24. I think that is a realistic possibility.

Yeah it's weird - I've heard a lot of analysts say this offseason that they wouldn't touch a CB before pick 20 in this draft because they're all flawed in some capacity, but so many teams have needs on the back end. It's a deep draft for CBs, but I guess that's not necessarily to say that there won't be a big run early?

I would not be surprised to see three corners - Gilbert, Dennard, and another (Fuller would be my pick) - go in the Top 15. And I probably wouldn't have agreed with that statement back in January, but now it's looking possible. Teams like Minnesota, Detroit, Tennessee, St. Louis, Chicago, and Pittsburgh could all go that way IMO. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jets move up for one of the top prospects, after striking out at the position in free agency.

San Francisco is in an interesting spot here. While it's definitely not their biggest need, I think they're sitting on the clock with two capable pass rushers on the board - Dee Ford of Auburn and Kony Ealy of Missouri. With the legal trouble that Aldon Smith has been in, would taking either of those guys make sense?

The run on CBs has been followed by a run on WRs.

I guess it IS a passing league.

So far, we've had 19 defensive players and 15 offensive players selected.

    Will this trend continue?

Okay, I don't want to nitpick, but as a lifelong die-hard UCLA fan, and a lifelong Notre Dame hater, something is not right here.

Seems no originality exists. The birds winning the SB with a great secondary now every exec wants a dominating secondary. Like movie producers Get one hit and there are copycats literally done in the same year. Room with a big cigar. "Someone anyone get me the next Earl Thomas, I am going to make him a star!!!!", "but sir we have no line" "DON"T ARGUE WITH ME SIMMONS, get me my damn THOMAS!"

So don't be surprised if Gilbert/Dennard/fuller/Clinton-Dix/Pryor/etc show up with glittery skin.

    The Rams are up!

What will Nick do with the pick?

We've already double-dipped on defense, with the Rams taking Jadeveon Clowney and Darqueze Dennard in Round 1.

A lot of intriguing names still on the board, including Gabe Jackson, Morgan Moses, Kelvin Benjamin, Jimmy Ward, Deone Buccannon, Juwan James, Joel Bitonio and Carlos Hyde, just to name a few.

    Who's it gonna be?

So the Rams end up with:

    1(2): Jadeveon Clowney
    1(13): Darqueze Dennard
    2(44): Joel Bitnio

    Thumbs up?

    Thumbs down?

In another thread we talked about priorities, and I mentioned mine. Those players seem to fit that priority pretty well. I think I would rather have Mack or Donald in place of Clowney only because of fit. Outside of that looks good.

well I gotta say there has to be a better pick here that fits the rams needs like a good WR or S.
Jordan Matthews perhaps or a guy I liek alot-- Deon Buchanon.
