With the 14th selection, the Carolina Panthers select:

    Paul Posluszny, LB, Penn State

The Panthers have lost Will Witherspoon and Chris Draft to free agency over the past two years, and Dan Morgan may be done due to injuries. Posluszny will fit in right away and can play either MLB or OLB.

With the 15th pick in the 2nd Annual ClanRam Round-Table Mock Draft, Pittsburgh Steelers select... Lawrence Timmons LB Florida State

The Steelers have built their roster around players fitted for the 3-4. New head coach Tomlin, may or may not change the defense from a 3-4 scheme to a 4-3. If he does go in that direction Timmons is a good fit at OLB in the 4-3 scheme. If he doesn't Timmons will contribute in replacing Porter. With players like All-Pro safety Troy Polamalu and Pro Bowl nose guard Casey Hampton, change won’t happen over night.

    The Green Bay Packers select....

    Marshawn Lynch, RB, California

Simple pick for the Pack. Green is in Houston, and currently it's up to either Vernand Morency or Noah Herron. Neither appear to be a long-term solution. Lynch may start from day 1.

With the 17th selection, the Jacksonville Jaguars pick...

    Reggie Nelson, S, Florida

Not a hard decision here. Despite recent concerns about his intelligence, it's hard to argue with Nelson's play on the field. The Jaguars sure won't be. Their other pressing need is at Defensive End, where Javris Moss warrants strong consideration, but is passed over because of a stronger need in the secondary. The Jaguars feel Nelson meets both nalue and need at pick 17, so he is undoubtedly the choice, as they did nothing to solidfy the safety position in the offseason, letting Deon Grant walk.

With the 18th pick the Cincinnati Bengals select...

Alan Branch - DT - Michigan

Can you believe one of the highest ranked talent propects pre-combine slipped all the way to 18th. The Bengals can't believe it either. The Bengals have as many holes as the Rams do on defense including tackle. A top flight corner like Revis looked good here, but Branch is just too talented to pass up. This COULD be the steal of the draft...or the flop.

With the 19th pick in the 2nd Annual ClanRam Round-Table Mock Draft, the Tennessee Titans select...

Ted Ginn Jr., WR, Ohio State

Reasoning: Tennessee could certainly go a different direction here. If there's a defensive end available, the Titans could be in the market as their pass rush in 2006 was really quite poor. Additionally, the year-long suspension of Adam "Pacman" Jones could force the Titans to look for help in the secondary much sooner than they probably would like to. Running back remains a possibility since they lost both Travis Henry and Chris Brown. But after losing Drew Bennett to free agency, the Titans will look towards Ted Ginn to become the #1 target for franchise quarterback Vince Young. His return skills should also help ease Pacman's loss as well.

With the 20th pick of the 2007 NFL Entry Draft the New York Giants select Joe Staley OT Central Michigan.

The Giants are desperate at LT after Luke Petigout and Bob Whitfield leaving and no rela depth behind them. Staley is 6'6" and 300lbs. with room to grow and has legite LT ability.

With the 21st Pick in the 2007 ClanRam Roundtable MockDraft the Denver Broncos select Jarvis Moss, Defensive End out of Florida.

Reasoning: After releasing Defensive End Courtney Brown due to injury reasons the top need for the Broncos' is Defensive End. Moss will provide the Broncos' with athleticism on that defensive line and a good pass rush. He can play OLB in a 3-4 scheme also. They could have also went Linebacker or Offensive Tackle with this pick but no value was availible for this pick.

With the 22nd pick in the draft, the Dallas Cowboys select:

    Justin Blaylock, OG/OT, Texas

The Cowboys stay in the state and select a replacement for Marco Rivera. Blaylock is a good prospect who also might be able to play at OT.

With the 23rd pick in the 2nd Annual ClanRam Round-Table Mock Draft, Kansas City Chiefs select... Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee

He should be the Chief’s number two immediately. He had a solid junior year with almost 1300 yards and 11 TD’s. He also has speed to stretch the defense. Chiefs are stunned to get him with the 23rd pick.

    The Patriots select.....

    Jon Beason, LB, Miami

Word around the information superhighway is that the Pats want Beason. Their LB corp is solid but aging quickly. With Bruschi and Vrabel on the inside, a youngster like Beason could find himself quickly in the lineup when Father Time catches up to the Pats LB corp.

Beason is the total package except for the three big tangibles.....height (6'0"), weight (237), and 40-time (4.72). But everything else....game film, instincts, motor, intelligence, 3-down skill set.....is everything you look for in a pro 'backer. He is probably 1 inch, 5 pounds, and 2/10ths of a second from being a top 10 pick.

With the 25th pick in the 2nd Annual ClanRam Round-Table Mock Draft, the New York Jets select...

    Darelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh

The Jets cannot believe their luck at pick 25, whereby they select not only the Best Player Available to them, but a player who also fills an immediate need. Justin Miller, a second rounder from two years ago, seems to be in the dog house, and Revis possesses very similar attributes to Miller.

For me, the only other option here would have been TE Greg Olson, another top 15 (potenitally) talent, but the need at cornerback is more pressing than adding another offensive weapon to the New York arsenal.

In summary- BPA choice, who happens to co-incide with a major team need, and may start from day one. You lucky Jets, you.

With the 26th pick the Eagles select...

    Michael Griffin - S - Texas

The Eagles need a Safety in a big way as Dawkins isn't getting any younger and the only other Safeties on their roster are Considine and Mikell. Griffin is their man. He is big, fast and loves to hit. This is a HUGE need position for the Eagles.

With the 27th pick, the New Orleans Saints select...

    AARON ROSS, CB, TEXAS

The Saints have signed Colts cornerback Jason David to an offer sheet, but even if the Colts don't match and David becomes a Saint, they could use additional help in the secondary. Ross gives the Saints an outstanding nickel corner prospect who can eventually come in and be a starter for them down the road. His ability as a return man should also help a Saints team that finished 28th in the league in punt return average. A dark horse for this pick may be a wide receiver like Dwayne Bowe since the Saints cut ties with Joe Horn, but ultimately I think they'll help out their defense here in this situation and then turn towards a WR later in the draft.

With the 28th pick in the 2007 NFL entry draft the New England Patriots select Brandon Merriweather S University of Miami.

With Harrisons age and Wilson's injuries the Patriots need to grab a playmaking S. Merriweather might not have the size to be a huge factor against the run, but he has the smarts and speed to plahy the deep zone against Peyton Manning. Added that Bellichek will take the thug out of him makes him a great pick.
