3rd and Goal from the 8

Imagine the players we could lineup on third and goal from the eight.

    Option 1 (3 WR's)
    TE1: Lance Kendricks 6’3 250 4.50 40
    WR1: Danario Alexander 6’5 215 22
    WR2: Austin Pettis 6’3 210 4.6 40
    WR3: Greg Salas 6’1 210 4.6 40
    RB: Steven Jackson 6'2 235 26

    Option 2 (two TE's):
    TE1: Lance Kendricks 6’3 250 4.50 40
    TE2: Mike Hoomanawanui 6’3 265
    WR1: Danario Alexander 6’5 215 22
    WR2: Austin Pettis 6’3 210 4.6 40
    RB: Steven Jackson 6'2 235 26

    Option 3 (three TE's)
    TE1: Lance Kendricks 6’3 250 4.50 40
    TE2: Mike Hoomanawanui 6’3 265
    TE3: Fendi Onobun 6’6 252 4.45 40 (If on roster)

    WR: Danario Alexander 6’5 215 22
    RB: Steven Jackson 6'2 235 26

With all three options we would have 5 players over 6'1 and 210 lbs that would be good big physical receiving options.

Much better than right now when we have most of our receivers are under 5'10".

Don't forget that Amendola is happy going over the middle as well, and being the "small" guy could let him slip by unnoticed. I wouldn't be throwing him any fades, but put him in the slot, cross him and Kendricks and one of them could gain a step and that is all Sam needs.
    I believe!

Well said. Amendola was easily Bradford's favorite target in the redzone last year. His overall quickness and route-running will be an excellent compliment to the size of our other receivers.

Hoomanawanui is actually around 6'5. He's a really big dude.

I dont think DA will be starting for the #1 WR but think he would be put as a good 2nd or 3rd option

Rams in a spread formation, bradford in the shotgun. Wide receiver in motion, fake fade to the corner, ITS A DRAW play, and the Big Boy cruises untouched up the middle until running over a whiner at the three yard line and dragging him into the end zone.

    ramming speed to all

You missed your chance to remind everyone of the whiner that tried to the one arm ankle tackle on SJ and all he got was a broken arm for it...

    This space for rent...

With this theory, we drafted all those guys as decoys

Whatever gets us in the end zone is fine with me! Red zone td's are the single biggest area of improvement needed offensively. We moved the ball very well to the 20 (only five teams i believe got into the red zone more often than us) but we were near the bottom in td's inside the 20. Very bad stat, and that explains why we didnt knock some teams out early in games, leading to some late tough losses.

I saw that stat too GC, and it goes to show that our offense really wasn't bad last year, it was just bad at scoring. We could move the ball very well, even with a med ward of receivers and not great push from the interior line, which just says something. We almost have it, and now with big redzone targets for Sam, I think we just may have a winner on our hands.

I hope our defense gets some much needed upgrades in free agency; I think we need at least one new starter on all three levels: DT, WLB(more snaps than SAM), and one of the safeties. But on the offensive side, I think all we need now is a spell for Jax(if we don't go spread all the time anyway) and possibly a new guard, depending on what the scheme dictates.
    I believe!

Exactly. I think that is the specific problem our FO addressed with the offensive rookies selected.
