Aaron Maybin to the LOU!?

Aaron Maybin was released by the Bills today after 2 horrific seasons in Buffalo. He was drafted #11. He plays defensive end and was a terror in college. He has the quickest first step. He played out of position in a 3-4.

In my opinion we have to take a chance on him. Whats to lose? He will come cheap, with a lot of potential, and with a defensive genious like Spags he can transform him. At worst he can be great depth.

I see we dont have a huge need at DE with the guys we got, but I am sure we can fit Maybin in there. Hes young (23) and has crazy untapped potential.

No. You say he played out of position at OLB in a 3-4, but the guy can't keep his weight above 220-230. There is no way he can play DE in a 4-3.

Even then, the guy has never registered a sack in the NFL, playing a position where sacks are easy to come by. As for depth, he won't be a better 4-3 end than George Selvie and CJ Ah You. Selvie already has more career sacks than Maybin after being a back up for one year. With Long, Hall and Quinn locked in, Maybin would have to beat out all of Ah You, Sims and Selvie, and i just can't see that happening.

The guy was a bust in the 4-3 and in the 3-4. There's no reason to lose someone else on the roster to give Maybin a spot when the team is fine at the position. When you look past the name, there's really no logical reason to pursue him.

Maybin is being let go for a reason.? The Bills FO needs upgrading, some of their picks have been worse than the Rams over the last decade. The Rams will take a look, but that will be it. I do not think he fits the bill, regarding his size. The Rams are this year making a concerted effort to beef up our roster with bigger players. Maybin would have to be one hell of a pass rusher for the Rams to take a chance on , seeing he is only 230 lbs.?
