Adam Schefter says "Dont count Rams outta Moss run"
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Patriots are close to re-signing free agent Randy Moss.
Schefter says the Patriots have a "standing multi-year offer to make Moss one of the highest paid receivers in the NFL." Moss is perhaps realizing the market for him isn't as strong as believed, although we wouldn't count out another team like the Rams, Redskins, or Eagles making a last minute run at him.
WOW this would be really amazing if we can get him at the last second.

It would be Nice. But How much are we willing to throw at him? That remains to be seen.

Yeah....
Adam Schefter is one of the most reliable sources IMO. Im glad to atleast hear our teams name in talks, even if we dont grab him...Finally shows that we have some interest in some talent. Is why we've been so quiet during the FAs so far?

Re: Adam Schefter says "Dont count Rams outta Moss run"
Moss is the same guy that one year ago no one on this board wanted any part of. We have huge needs on this team, spending another 30 million on a wide receiver isnt one of them. We have holt and bennett, huge money on a third guy doesnt make sense. can anyone really believe that moss would help us more than fanceca?

I'm positive Moss would help more than Faneca. he'd be playing the *****, Cardinals twice a year. Honestly...the Seahawks secondary isn't as stellar as people make it seem, too.

Re: Adam Schefter says "Dont count Rams outta Moss run"
The definition of a deep threat, you can't argue he's not at a position of need. If we didn't have all the money tied up in Bennett, Moss would be a stellar pick up, although we should be looking at youth at the WR position.

Yeah...of course the QB needs to stay up long enough. Not like our line is terrible when it's healthy. lol

Re: Adam Schefter says "Dont count Rams outta Moss run"
I have mixed feelings about Moss, but it is worth noting that at the beginning of free agency last year we had Bruce and were in contract discussions with Curtis. Now we don't have Bruce, Bennett is coming off a bad year, and Randy is coming off a bounce-back year that showed us that he has not yet been slowed by injuries. So a lot of things have changed in that time.
Yes, he could have a bigger impact than Faneca. Alan Faneca is one of the better guards out there, but Moss at his best is arguably the best in the game. The trouble is that the odds of Faneca having a negative effect on the team he goes to are very low, whereas Moss has attitude problems and has had brushes with the law that could become a distraction to the team. Moss has the potential to do more good but also has that potential to do harm. So the question becomes whether you're willing to take on that risk factor.

Re: Adam Schefter says "Dont count Rams outta Moss run"
I dont mind getting him. He seems productive everywhere he goes. And with the arm Bulger has...we're in for a great season.
But the money hes asking for would make me shoot myself in the foot.

Re: Adam Schefter says "Dont count Rams outta Moss run"
Adam Schefter is not a "source." He is a typical hack who speculates. He didn't report anything there, just his own feeling of which teams would make sense for Moss.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Adam Schefter says "Dont count Rams outta Moss run"
He's the same hack who reported last offseason the Raiders were going to fire Art Shell and then they were quick to rip on him calling the report false. A couple of days later, as he reported, Shell was fired. As someone mentioned above, Schefter is one of the better and more credible reporters in the NFL so for him to mention the Rams in the Moss race is a big, big deal.

Re: Adam Schefter says "Dont count Rams outta Moss run"
i wonder if we were to land him, what torry holt's feelings would be. he might be threatened by him but he might like being in single coverage for a change.
imagine holt and moss on either side of the field, arguably the best wr tandem ever, on paper anyway....
to answer the post tho, i dont want him because it seems he is only productive on winning teams. when the team is bad he sulks. imagine how disruptive he could be if we repeat last seasons debacle.Last edited by Aussie Dave; -03-03-2008 at 04:31 AM.

Re: Adam Schefter says "Dont count Rams outta Moss run"
Yuck. I can't imagine his tantrums when we don't win games. He just came off a near-undefeated season. He has the perfect situation in NE. He's not going anywhere.
