Eh, I don't really think that's a great comparison. I think the only part that holds a lot of water is that they're both athletic linebackers that could play multiple positions.
However, Hawk projects to a different pro position than Claiborne did. Also, Claiborne came out early after his junior year, whereas Hawk stayed through his senior year and has that extra level of experience and maturity. Hawk's college production is better as well, as he was able to make far more plays in the opponent's backfield than Claiborne did, while having just as many turnovers with bigger big play potential, IMO.
Furthermore, Hawk's combine measurables also dwarf Claiborne's - faster straight line speed combined with much better agility and change of direction numbers. Claiborne, the MLB prospect, also put up fewer reps on the bench (16, incidentally), which is rather odd since MLBs are traditionally stronger.
I don't know. I view Hawk as a relatively safe prospect in this draft. I would be surprised if he completely busted out.
