i read that they ran on astroturf, the concrete-like surface the edjones dome was using...which translates into adding a tenth of a second relative to the field turf at the combine...

still very good for a 240+ linebacker...but i was more impressed with hawks 20 yd shuttle and 3 cone numbers...they were DB-like...

Yeah, most numbers are a bit inflated from pro days, but this combined with his high 4.5/low 4.6 at the combine makes me even more of a believer, as well as the drill work he did. I'm starting to warm up to Wagoner's idea about moving up a couple slots if Hawk should fall out of the top 5-6.

I was hoping Hawk ran a substandard 40 time and would start slipping however reports are:

Ohio State linebacker A.J. Hawk sped through his private workout in Columbus on Thursday and is now speeding up the draft chart. Hawk ran 4.38 and 4.46 at his Pro Day in the 40-yard dash. Hawk could be ticketed to San Francisco at No. 6.
