Albert haynesworth

The Redskins offered DT Albert Haynesworth in trade talks for Donovan McNabb, according to league sources.
Haynesworth, who clashed with coaches in Washington last season and has not made a good first impression with new coach Mike Shanahan, is someone who could be had in a trade, and he was offered to the Eagles.
Other coaches said that they expect the Redskins to continue attempts to move Haynesworth, who is bucking attempts to play nose tackle with Washington playing more 3-4 now, according to sources. Haynesworth just received a $21 million bonus at the start of the month, and his salary would make dealing him very difficult.
The Eagles had no interest in him outright, according to a source, and thus the subject of how much of the bonus payments and salary the Redskins would absorb in a trade did not come up. When the Redskins brought up Haynesworth they offered no financial stipulations, according to the source, but had the Eagles shown interest that matter may have come up.


You guys interested in picking him up? Offer a nice trade something like Alex Barron, Adam Carricker, and a fifth round pick.

don't really want him... he seems like a pain... a guy who just wants money... did you see what he did when we played him last season? nothing... Steven still ran all over them.

Dont forget he was injured pretty much all year. On a 4-3 defense like the Titans, he was easily top 3 DT's in the league.

I understand he comes with a very hefty price, but where do you find yourself a player like him.

Arguably, Suh is compared to him. So If we take Bradford and get Haynesworth, we get the best of both worlds.

Player with a history of a bad attitude and doesn't like when things change? Yeah he would LOVE playing for us. No way do i want him in Horns, he would be a cancer.

I think the Redskins way, way overpaid for him, and I wouldn't want that chunker (both player and contract) with the Rams. Pass.

I agree CRF would be a negative too the whole team first concept, coaches authority. ect. just the fact the skins put him out there speaks volumes

Haynesworth is probably one of the top 4-3 defensive tackles in the league when healthy, but they can't afford to pay him that money to play out of position in a 3-4. Playing him at nose is a huge waste. The Redskins know it, and Haynesworth knows it. I think he'd be a tremendous addition if we could negotiate a trade involving players and/or mid-round picks.

If we are going to get a DT who is out of position i would rather us go for Dorsey. He has a better attitude and not to long ago considered to be the next Suh... wait... what?..

I'd rather have the 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year than a guy who has yet to live up to the pre-draft hype. His contract is a concern, but I think a large chunk of it was signing bonus, for which the Skins would still be on the hook. I'm not entirely certain about that, though.

As far as the whole attitude thing goes, I don't see it as such a problem that a Pro Bowler as a one-gap penetrator is unhappy about being deployed as a 3-4 nose tackle. That's kind of like asking a Pro Bowl runningback to accept a role as a blocking fullback. The key to Spags' defensive success in NY was pressure, and that's what Fat Albert would give us in spades.

How about we just draft SUH and forget about the next coming of
Josh Heupel and Jason white.

You mean out of shape not injured. Sure he had some bruises and bumps all players do that play.

the guy signed a big fat contract and you know the rest.

I think I read somewhere where they actually just paid him 21 million in bonuses, so it would really only be roughly, a 60-65 million dollar contract.

I just wouldn't want his contract. Haynesworth the player would be an absolutely outstanding addition. Putting him where he plays best and turning him loose would no doubt eliminate his grumblings. I'd be frustrated as well if i was taken out of m comfort zone and forced to sit and eat up blocks, that's not what i excel at, im used to, and my health and career is being wasted playing there.
