Alex Barron
Would it be possible for the Rams to give Barron a shot at Left Tackle for the 2009 season, since that was his natural position. He is athletic enough to play there, and if we try him at left tackle we could draft Loadhoalt in the 2nd round to play right tackle.
Our offensive line would be:
LT- Barron
LG- Bell
C- Romberg/Incognito
RG- Grecco
RT- Loadhoalt
If Barron doesn't work out, which is obviously a good possibility, then at least we gave it a shot. We could just draft a LT in the 2010 draft and use our 1st round pick this draft on Curry, Raji, or Stafford/Sanchez.
I know there is almost no chance of this happening, but could somebody tell me why?

Re: Alex Barron
Barron did play LT for a good chunk of the '07 season.
And his problems have been mental more than anything. Moving him to LT wouldn't help that.

Re: Alex Barron
No thankyou!!! First of Barron is not better than pace or any rookie we draft early. That line could be possibly worse than the one we have now

Re: Alex Barron
I really like Phil Loadholt, but I don't like Barron as our LT.

Re: Alex Barron
The funny thing is that while Barron started those 15 games at LT during the '07 season, he experienced his best season in terms of sacks allowed (only 3.50) compared to this past season where he gave up 7.50 and the year prior to '07 where he allowed 8.75. Is it because he is playing out of position? Possibly. This doesn't disregard his lingering mental lapses and knack for being lazy on the job, but the Rams have often played many players out of position when maybe they shouldn't have (Witherspoon at MLB, Carriker at DT). But Barron is what he is by now, he's had more than enough time.

Re: Alex Barron
"Give Alex Barron a shot..." YEA-- a.357 to the left side of his head(will cause NO serious damage!!!!!!!!!) ought to do it!!! THIS is the MOST PENALIZED PLAYER WITHIN THE ENTIRE NFL. He couldn't even "make it" on the Detroit Lions!!!!!!!!!!!! Time to cut & run with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
