Amobi Okoye via Trade?
Anyone interested in Okoye via a trade with Houston? He's young and best suited for a 4-3 defense than the 3-4 he was playing in in Houston. Any interest here?

I'm usually on board for at least looking at intriguing former Big East guys, but there's little about Okoye that interests me at this point.

He'll probably be released if no one bites...which I doubt they will, knowing he'll be cut. I wouldn't make a trade for him. He'd certainly be more valuable than Chris Hovan though.

Re: Amobi Okoye via Trade?
I would love this guy. He was 19 when he was drafted and racked up 4 sacks in his first few games. He's a guy who would fit Spags defense. He was mis-used in Houston. He was a case of "a 4-3 DT failing in a 3-4".
Spags could do wonders with him.

Re: Amobi Okoye via Trade?
I'm all for him, after he's released. We're going to have a 90-man roster during training camp/preseason, might as well bring him in and see if Spags is capable of maximizing his potential

Re: Amobi Okoye via Trade?
Considering that he entered the NFL severely underdeveloped, even as a man-child, at 19, and Spags prides himself in his ability to put together a good defensive line which pressures the QB, if Spags wanted Okoye, I'd be all for it. He was drafted in the high first round simply because he was smart and had an amazing amount of potential, being only 19.
I'm not surprised that he hasn't been the dominant force that a player drafted where he was shoudl be, because he's only now gotten to a maturity level of an NFL rookie. Since he has no value in the Texans new defense I'd wait until he's released, but I also wouldn't be against a low round 2013 pick(a la Haynesworth trade), like a 6th.
I'd love to see if Spags can mold him into what he certainly could be.I believe!

I WOULD LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OKOYE!!!! he is like a super freak for intellegence... class act.. a kid from africa.. and entered the draft with a degree at 19!!!!!!!!!!! we passed him up before and it was a mistake.. you bring in him the day he is cut... he made for the 4-3 and spags could make him a probowler I have no doubt

Re: Amobi Okoye via Trade?
Makes more sense as a free agent than a trade, and I guess it wouldn't hurt to bring him in on the cheap to see what he can do. But I'm just not sure I see much there beyond a depth player at this point. He really hasn't made much progress since entering the league.
