Av's 2011 NFL Draft Watch List (Version 1.0)
I'm not as ambitious as Nick, so I'm not going to attempt a mock draft quite yet. Instead, this is my current list of players I have my eye on as possible Rams targets.
NOTE: Not all of these players are necessarily prospective first round targets. Rather, these are players I could see as possibilities in the first three rounds. Some of these players are Juniors who I could envision declaring for the draft.
(Listed Alphabetically):
Allen Bailey, DE, Miami (FL)
Bruce Carter, OLB, North Carolina
John Clay, RB, Wisconsin
Noel Devine, RB, West Virginia
A.J. Green, WR, Georgia
Leonard Hankerson, WR, Miami (FL)
Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State
Julio Jones, WR, Alabama
This list will surely grow...
Re: Av's 2011 NFL Draft Watch List (Version 1.0)
Other than OT, MLB and QB, is there really a position the Rams could exclude from the starting 22 if a guy falls to them? They are solid at CB, but I'd still take one if a premier player fell to them unexpectedly.
Ingram should be added.
Re: Av's 2011 NFL Draft Watch List (Version 1.0)
If we're talking about the first two rounds, I'd rule out QB, C, OG, OT, MLB, SS and FS.
I'd only consider a TE or CB if there was a clear elite/BPA type guy available.
I think there should be a strong preference for a WR, with DE as the next best option. Ideally, Jackson's backup would be obtained in the 3rd or 4th round, though I might consider using a second round pick for the right guy.

I agree with you (for once! :) ) on the need for a wide receiver above all else, although cases could be made for an OLB or, especially, a DT in round two- after all, Robbins isn't getting any younger, Gibson's only okay and Ryan and Scott seem injury-prone.
Re: Av's 2011 NFL Draft Watch List (Version 1.0)
Decent list, Av but how about including 2 more DEs like Adrian Clayborn, Iowa and Robert Quinn, North Carolina.
Either one could make a huge impacy for the Rams.
WHAT SAY YE?
Re: Av's 2011 NFL Draft Watch List (Version 1.0)
i'm really interested to see where we end up by season's end this year, if we pick in the top 10 we could pick up a monster d-lineman or receiver, where if we end up somehow winning the division we would have a couple of linebackers and o-linemen or halfbacks to look at.

AV you bring up the point of adding a CB early which i like cuz no one else is really considering it.
You should really consider Ras-I Dowling out of Virginia. He would probably play safety for the Rams along side OJ. I think he is the perfect fit for the defense. He plays great in man coverage and is also great at playing over the top. He is big and is a sure tackler. He is a spags type DB. Also a 4-pillar player and i know he is the co-captain of the defense this year for the cavs.

intresting.
a scout from the rams attended the hampton vs. central michigan game and the buffalo vs. baylor game.
kenrick ellis (hampton) and phil taylor (baylor) maybe? both defensive tackles, but look at the stats! both 340 pounds...
the rams are high on akkem ayers. they watched him three times.
