Re: Av's 2012 Mock Offseason (First Rough Draft)
After trimming the fat on our roster, will we be able to afford three FAs of that caliber?

I think so. Apart from Brandon Lloyd, the Rams don't really have any significant players that they need to consider resigning this year.
The biggest impact could come from restructuring J.Smith. If he is willing, the Rams should be able to clear significant cap room ($5-$6 million, perhaps) by redoing his deal.

Re: Av's 2012 Mock Offseason (First Rough Draft)
Not sure where you got those numbers from, but they certainly paint an inaccurate picture to me.
Perhaps our discrepancy comes from your use of the word "Starts."
While I didn't take the leisure of looking up their "starts", I did focus on the games they appeared in, as that would appear to be a better measuring stick of their durability to me.
And though Bowe still leads in that category, it is not even close to the disparity you presented.
First off, Bowe has only missed 5 games in his 5 year career. I have him appearing in 75 of 80 games.
Colston on the other hand, has missed a total of 10 games in his 6 year career. He has appeared in 86 of 96 games.
So as you can see, there is not nearly the disparity between the two that you originally posted. And both of them have proven to be very durable throughout their careers.Last edited by Fortuninerhater; -02-02-2012 at 01:22 AM.

I'm just going by what NFL.com/ESPN.com have for each player.
Don't get me wrong, this is not a "YES TO BOWE, NO TO COLSTON" message. I give the edge to Bowe, but if the Rams signed Colston, I'd be an extremely happy camper.

Re: Av's 2012 Mock Offseason (First Rough Draft)
I think if we have Blackmon and Amendola to round out the top 3 with Colston or Bowe, I don't mind either.
Colston has been a playmaker, and great WR. I think Bowe deserves a little edge though. Remember also he had Cassell and 2nd string qbs throwing to him, not Drew Brees. I know the next arguement will be: Colston put up high numbers when Brees had 6 options.
Agree with AV though. Do NOT mind either, but I want to give a little edge to Bowe. I love the way Bowe plays the WR position.
Stats pretty much the same last year, but Bowe was better in 2010. Bowe is only a year and 3 months younger, but I think that could matter too with our young team! I vote Bowe over Colston, but won't cry if we get Colston. Cause I really don't mind eitherLast edited by sb2sb2sb; -02-02-2012 at 11:11 AM.
