Av's 2013 Rams' Draft Board and Day 2 Watch List (Version 1.0)
Now that the college regular season is over, I'm ready to put out my preliminary Rams' draft board. I've decided to go 20 players deep, as the Rams' two first rounders are currently between #s 15-20.
The list is my ranking of the top draft-eligible prospects (some are underclassmen that could return to school) for the Rams. In other words, you won't find any QBs or DEs on my list.
I'm also including my preliminary Day 2 Watch List. This is a list (I'm starting with a Top 10, but may enlarge the list in the future) of players who, though I don't think they merit a first round selection, could be great fits for the Rams if they are available in Rounds 2 or 3.
I'll probably update this three times before the draft (after the Senior Bowl, after the Combine, and in early April).
So... without further adieu...
Rams Draft Board
1. Luke Joekel, OT, Texas A&M
2. Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
3. Manti Te’o, LB, Notre Dame
4. Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor

17. Chase Thomas, OLB, Stanford
18. Kenny Vaccaro, S, Texas

Using your board, here are the players I think we would have a good shot at.
Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama at 15
Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor at 20
Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford in the second

That wouldn't suck.

I'd be pretty damn happy with this. The only difference i'd rather have is Matt Elam over Terrance Williams, though Williams has had a terrific season and will probably be a great pro. I do love the focus on the offense though.

Its hard at this point to project where each guy will go. Right now, Williams is a late first/early second round prospect. However, a good Senior Bowl week and Combine could elevate him into the mid-first. Elam is similar, and could be a riser as well.

I agree, and ultimately I think both WILL rise. There really isn't any #1 WR this year. Most will point and say Keenan Allen is the guy, but I'm sure all 32 teams will be split right down on all the prospects. Some may want to take the guy with killer potential (Justin Hunter). Some want the size'y possession guy (Allen), others want something thats a little bit of both worlds and has a good chance of succeeding (Williams).
I think if they can put up decent numbers at the combine, they'll fly (Stephen Hill anyone?).

I read that he's declared.

he hasn't declared but if he does I would love to grab him with our first pick.

SI's Tony Pauline cites sources that say Clemson junior WR DeAndre Hopkins will declare for April's Draft.
This is big news, not only because Hopkins is an explosive downfield threat, but it may start a trickle down effect that includes junior quarterback Tajh Boyd declaring. "Nuke" filled in nicely for sophomore Sammy Watkins as the team's top playmaker in multiple games this season.

Good to hear.
The only player on my list who I'm fairly certain is returning is C.J. Mosely (although I suppose he could change his mind after the BCS Championship Game).
Re: Av's 2013 Rams' Draft Board and Day 2 Watch List (Version 1.0)
Looks like Jake Matthews will be returning to Texas A&M, so there may be a couple of players I'll need to replace on my board.
Also, given that the Rams' second pick will likely be in the 21-25 range, I'm going to need to expand the board to 25 prospects.

This is disappointing news from a fan perspective as it diminishes the class, but for Matthews, this is probably the best choice. This should allow him to fill Joeckel's spot at left tackle, and could put him in contention to be the top tackle taken in 2014.

whats ur reasoning behind Teo at #3 for the Rams? you would want him to start at MLB?
