Re: Av's Draft Radar (Five/Ten/Ten) - Select From This List
the toughest part is if you think you have five possible guys at the top, you really have zero

Re: Av's Draft Radar (Five/Ten/Ten) - Select From This List
1) curry
2) meredith (if he makes it this far he can play any position on the line and hes a really good RT which is what we have more need for)
3) barden or another wr (we should wait next year to draft d-line in the first day of the draft)

Re: Av's Draft Radar (Five/Ten/Ten) - Select From This List
Curry,Nicks, Cadogan
Curry, perfect #1 for the Rams, a real leader in the middle.
Nicks, would be a great addition to our recieving corp, ready to start.
Cadogen, would be value in the 3rd, decent player and coachable.

Re: Av's Draft Radar (Five/Ten/Ten) - Select From This List
RamsSB99 who do you want in the first round? I want Curry. So do I. RamsSB99 who do you want in the second round? I want Loadholt. So do I. RamsSB99 who do you want in the third round? I want Barden. So do I, man we have a lot in common.
Some of my best conversations are with myself. Me too.

Re: Av's Draft Radar (Five/Ten/Ten) - Select From This List
R1 - Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
R2 - Sean Smith, DB, Utah
R3 - Herman Johnson, OG/OT, LSU
Only difference to my own mock is taking Johnson as now it seems that the prevailing opinion is that Robiskie won't fall that far.
I like the sound of Johnson who is the size to fit the Devaney idea of 'bigger bodies'. Our O-Line is notorious for injuries and bonehead penalties, so some healthy competition would hopefully sharpen them up!

I'd be thrilled with a combination of Monroe, Nicks and McKillop.

Re: Av's Draft Radar (Five/Ten/Ten) - Select From This List
A well-sifted list of the best suspects,AV.
I think this will be a very serviceable reference until close to the draft. Thanks.
My choices, with a few quibbles:
1. Monroe
Swapping Maclin for Crabtree would have made this one a wee bit more agonizing.
I ask you to consider that we still need speed. We play at least 9 games a year on artificial turf; @ The ED & The Hags Nest. SJ & a power running O-line will help keep KW & The Cards off the field on grass in AZ but our current skill guys' stats explode on turf; SJ, Avery.
I think Maclin will be like that as well, esp with his KR cred.
More so than Crabtree. Bulger doesn't throw the drop-from-the-rafters ball well enough to take advantage of Crabtree as a deep threat like Fitz. I think our TEs & RBs can rip up the middle of defenses & get the hard YAC stuff.
2. Sean Smith
All of me wants a D guy here.
My head says we are even thinner at DB than LB & there are more solid LBs lower than there are DBs with Smith's size & talent.Maybe Spags turns Hill & Wade into diamonds but..
My heart says Brace or Hood. maybe BD is right about the interior line's relative potential under Spags & with some cheaper beef but..
3. Terrance Knighton
Where's the beef? There's the beef!
If we re-sign Setterstrom and/or Goldberg, I think this list is a little O-line rich. I'd like to have another LB or DE choice here instead of Cadogan or Kropog. Maybe my guy from Cal, LB Zack Follett. High-character intense guy who could easily be more productive than Pisa, imo.
Or DT Alex Magee,Purdue, who has the size & quickness to play RDE or rotate with Carriker. Nice bookend to Long if Chris moves to LDE as BD has hinted he might.Last edited by Azul e Oro; -03-13-2009 at 04:50 PM.

Re: Av's Draft Radar (Five/Ten/Ten) - Select From This List
1. Curry
2. Hood (alts: Beatty, Loadholt)
3. Barden (alts: Kropog, Martin)
If we go D in the 1st, I'll be hoping for a run on WR's/LB's late in the round. (to keep the focus off LT's)
If we go LT in the 1st, I'll be hoping for a run on OT's. (for the opposite: WR/LB/DT)
