Re: Av's Free Agent "Hot List" (Revised 2/20/07)

I wonder if Wroten could be moved to DE if we are able to sign a FA DT and draft a DT.

Redding has been franchised. He has been franchised as a DT and not a DE, so that mya cause some problems with him and the Lions

i think it would be best to keep him at DT, as part of a rotation

What about Dante Stallworth? He's going to become a Free Agent why not sign him? He's only 26 and could go from 3rd to 2nd reciever and would be cheaper than Curtis IMO

Scott is smaller than the ideal nose tackle but he at least is relatively young, is known for being a run defender, and has played the nose in Chicago. Redding is an end/tackle 'tweener who slid into the DT role in Marinelli's defense this year due to injuries to other players and excelled as an interior pass rusher. I wouldn't think he'd be an option at the nose.

Maybe, maybe not. He's younger with more starting experience and better career numbers. I don't think we can assume he's going to get less money than Kevin.

Someone will pay Stallworth the big bucks, he had some good moments for Philly last year

Does this upcoming Free Agency period seem underwhelming to anyone else? I know there is a chance at players being released, but the talent available compared to previous years is quite below par IMO.

The depth of talent is probably thiner due to a lot of teams having plenty of cap space this year, thus they can afford to Tag their star FA's..:l

Re: Av's Free Agent "Hot List" (Revised 2/20/07)

Remember North Carolina star defensive tackle Ryan Sims? An injury pretty much wiped out his 2006 season with Kansas City, and the Chiefs have no intention of bringing him back. Sims, 27 next season, could add depth to many defensive lines.

Anybody know anything about this Ryan Sims guy?

    Hes listed at 6'4 325lbs?

Could he be a good fit on the DL?

Sims has not played well at all for the Chiefs. I would not sign him unless it was as a rotation player. I also believe Stallworth will command more money than Curtis. Add in the fact that he is tremendously injury prone and that the third receiver does not play a huge role in Linehans offense. There is no way that I would spend big money on him.

Could Jarret Johnson be a good fit for our defensive line? Hes pretty versatile and wouldnt break the bank.

Re: Av's Free Agent "Hot List" (Revised 2/20/07)

    1. Stallworth will get as much money as Curtis I heard he wants an Antwan Randle deal of 10 million up fron and 30 million over 6 years. He will get that and for the Rams right now that is to much.

    2. DT RYan Sims is a bust and if the Rams brought him in dirt cheap then for sure who knows when these guys realize tehir potential look at Gerad Warren.

    3. Jarret Johnson is a fringe guy comepared to James Hall and Chris Kelsay. We need a legitimate DE opposite little.

James hall would be a nice fairly cheap signing and could start at RE. I see him getting a Coakley type deal 4 years 15-20 million.
