Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
Here are the top 10 players I'm currently looking at for next year's draft:
1. Keenan Allen, WR, California
2. Robert Woods, WR, USC
3. Manti Te’o, LB, Notre Dame
4. Eric Reid, FS, LSU
5. Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
6. Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
7. D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
8. Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
9. Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
10. Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
Av, you have one of my all time favorite names on your list. Barkevious Mingo. He would look very nice on the roster next to Rockeverious.
Meanwhile, i think the 2013 rams will need three things in the draft. Offensive line, offensive line and offensive line. If we have any picks left over, we should go offensive line.

Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
I wouldn't be surprised if Fisher and Snead draft two OTs in the first round
Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
USC games are often televised so all I know about the receivers right now is Woods is a beast and Hunter is coming off an ACL...
Right now i think Manti Te'o will have the greatest impact on our team he adds an element of speed right next to JLau...out front 7 will easy be top 10 with Te'o talent.
Just 1 question AV are you opposed to drafting offensive guards high? Because LG is our biggest weakness (even before the lions game) and Chance Warmack is not on your board
Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
I'll bet Av put #10 on there simply because of the name.
Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
Barrett Jones, G, Alabama, Ricky Wagner, OT, Wisconsin?
Go Rams!
Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
A few draft trackers have us taking Utah NT Star Lotulelei, but given our O-line issues I say we go with Barrett Jones, the guy is 6'5" and has the foot work to play C, both Guard positions, & tackle....how do you NOT go with this guy!?!?
Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
I will assume we have a pick in the 5-7 range (ours) and one in the 13-16 range (Skins). Our first pick should be the BPA....Woods, Mingo, Star L., etc. But that skins pick will be right in the sweet spot of where the first round OTs will be hanging out.
Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
I can't imagine taking a DT with Brockers and Langford in place.
As far as an OG... I might consider a "one in 10 years" prospect with a top 20 pick. Otherwise, I'd prefer to go with an OT if the O line is the target.
I would be surprised (unless our rookies come on like gangbusters) if the Rams don't use one of their first round picks on a WR.
Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
Many consider this years OT class to be average at best, which is why I'd go with Jones over the OT at this time (BPA) & see what we can find in FA. Sadly, none of the top 3 OT's look like they can come in and be your 10 year personal body guard for "50". Now as far as WR's go, before the college season started I was in love with Robert Woods, but USC's other starer WR Marquis Lee has actually looked better (unless one wants to argue that he is benefiting from the greatness of Woods. Actually, Allen looks to be the better prospect, however neither guy is dominating right now.
Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
Manti Te'o, after losing his grandmother and his girlfriend in the course of a week, went out and registered 12 tackles in ND's upset of Michigan State.
Pretty impressive.
Re: Av's Preliminary 2013 Draft "Watch List"
So much draft strategy depends on a teams ability to address needs in free agency. Before deciding how many offensive tackles we need, we will have to see what Fisher and Snead can get done before the draft.
I agree that the ND linebacker is a very impressive guy.

Guess I'll have to focus on him more carefully if that is the case. Certainly, if he projects as a Larry Allen quality player, I'd have no qualms taking him in the first round.
