Av's Ridiculously Early 2011 Rams First Round Pick Projection
I know... its WAY too early to be talking about this, but...
Here is my pick for the Rams in Round 1 of the 2011 NFL Draft:
Bruce Carter, OLB, North Carolina
Carter is 6'3 and currently 225-230, but has the frame to bulk up. I'm betting that by the time he's drafted he'll be playing in the 240-245 range. He hasn't been timed, but I'd guess he's a 4.60 or better in the 40. I you watch UNC play, he's the guy who is always around the ball, and he hits like a truck.
In additional to being a great prospect for the WLB spot on the Rams defense, I like Carter because he's probably a guy who will be taken in the middle of the first round. In other words, he'll probably go to a team that wins 6-9 games.
Okay... that will be my last 2011 "mock draft" type post until at least November.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Av's Ridiculously Early 2011 Rams First Round Pick Projection
I am not sure at this point on a first round pick. But I would like to get a big physical reciever like A.J Green from Georgia or Julio Jones from Alabama. Both are 6.4 recievers and very fast.
I believe a gem in the 2011 draft is going to be Vincent Brown. The wide reciever from San Diego State University. He never has a good qb to throw to him. And from 2007-2009 he has averaged over 10.0 yards a catch. In 2007 he had 11.3 average and in 2008 he had 10.0 and in 2009 he had 17.3. SDSU really doesn't get a lot of respect but does produce good players. I go to almost ever SDSU home game and this guy Vincent Brown is always making plays. He is Also a four pillar guy Spags likes. During the 2007 fires in San Diego, Vincent Brown was at Qualcomm Stadium helping out all the people. Givin them food and giving up clothes. I think he will be a steal in the 2011 draft.

I'm keeping an eye on Adrian Clayborn the DE from Iowa. This guy looks like the real deal.

If we are picking in the top 15 next year, I hope we target one of the four major WRs.

Mark Ingram would be a great SJax replacement at some point , either 2011 or 2012

lol, way too early...
But I like AJ Green if he puts on some more weight. But who knows if we'll need him next year.

I like Julio Jones right now. He's a man's man, and the perfect compliment to the type of receivers (see: tiny, frail) we have on the roster presently.

Let me give you four names. The Rams are getting one if we don't get dramatic improvement from 1 of our own guys
AJ Green, WR, Georgia
Julio Jones, WR, Alabama
Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
Jonathan Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh

Re: Av's Ridiculously Early 2011 Rams First Round Pick Projection
The 2011 draft will be interesting say the least.
Depending on rookie salary cap.
Unfortunately the Rams will have the first pick again. I don't see rams beating lions this year. I'm hoping for at least a three win season.
If there is a rookie salary cap do you take a chance on another QB in round one. To make sure you get your franchise QB or do you trade down for more picks for teams wanting there future franchise QB. Good Questions in my book.
QB Jake Locker
QB Ryan Mallet
QB Andrew Luck
I hope these problems were solved in the 2010 draft! DE , WR , OLB & OT.
I'm interested in these players in the 2011 draft!
1. WR A.J. Green Georgia
2. WR Julio Jones Alabama
3. DE Greg Romeus Pitt
4. DE Adrian Clayborn Iowa
5. RB Mark Ingram Alabama
Looking for Jackson replacement.
