Back up Running back
Has anyone heard who we might be looking at as a back up for Steven Jackson?

Re: Back up Running back
Haven't. If it were my call, I'd certainly want to get Tony Fisher back as the number 3 guy + additional pass blocker, assuming his leg's ok. Thought he was excellent value for money when he was healthy last year.

Re: Back up Running back
I really hope we look at these guys in this order:
1. Samkon Gado
2. Correll Buckhalter
3. LaBrandon Toefield
4. Anthony Thomas
5. Artose PinnerRamsFan16

Re: Back up Running back
I think there's a pretty good chance that Stephen Davis will be back in that role, provided some other team doesn't overpay for him. If not, I'd look for the Rams to take a RB in the 3rd or 4th round. Most of the FAs out there, in my opinion, are not particularly attractive.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

I agree, I think we're better off drafting a back-up.

Re: Back up Running back
Whats the status on Michael Turner? I'd like to see him playing as a backup and handling some return duties.

Re: Back up Running back
Stephen Davis will be back and the Rams will draft someone late who has some speed and wiggle.

Re: Back up Running back
The deal with Michael Turner is he got the high tender from the San Diego Chargers, meaning signing him to an offer sheet will cost us a first and third rounder. We could negotiate to trade for him, but it won't be cheap and he likely wants to go to a team where he will get more playing time. AKA, we should look elsewhere.

Re: Back up Running back
We should look to the middle to late rounds of the draft for a running back. There are a lot of mediocre running backs in this draft. We could take a productive runner out of college and I think they would be good backups to Jackson. IE Antonio Pittman out of Ohio State. The guy ran a 4.4 40 and I don't see anyone giving him love. Or if we wanted to go late we could pick someone like a Garrett Wolfe out of North Illinois or a Jon Cornish out of Gay-U.

Gay-U. How...clever? You're embarassing yourself.
