Backup QB
All this Tebow talk made me think; we still don't have a backup QB. So who do you guys want?
Personally i'd like us to sign Billy Volek, he's 36, been in the NFL for a while worked with Rivers and i think he is fine being the backup and helping out a younger QB.
What do you gents think??

Re: Backup QB
Think Josh Johnson is the only one with a pulse and some upside. But I wouldn't be opposed to the oldwarriorclipboardholdertype like Volek.

Re: Backup QB
Carr gone..
Jets QB Drew Stanton is reportedly hoping that the team will release him after Tim Tebow's acquisition.
Stanton didn't draw any known interest from teams other than the Jets before signing a one-year, $1.25 million deal on March 16. Plenty of teams would be interested in an athletic second- or third-stringer, though. Reentering the free agent market would allow Stanton to have a say on his new club.

Re: Backup QB
Kellen Clemens would be a good addition.

Re: Backup QB
I agree with Kellen Clemens he was already here and he is a servicable back up.
Just Fix It

Re: Backup QB
I'd like Clemens, and quite frankly am very surprised he hasnt been locked in yet (i guess we don't fear anyone signing him)
For starters, he filled in very admirably for Sam, and I gained a lot of respect for him.
Also, during his introductory phone call press conference Schotty talked specifically about how he has a great talking relationship with Clemens. We'll see. I bet he'll be back in the Lou.

Re: Backup QB
I'd like Clemens back, and there really isn't much else out there right now.

Re: Backup QB
I'd like Clemens back as well, but I would like to take a flier on drafting a 'high ceiling, high risk" young guy in hope of developing him....like a Ryan Mallet, or Tony Romo, Case Keenum....etc...
QBs have huge trade value if you can develop them and trade them, the way the Eagles traded Kolb, etc..

Re: Backup QB
I'd go with Kellen Clements. He and Schotty have a relationship from the Jets, so he knows the playbook. Plus he's played on our team last year so there is familiarity there too. Best of all he's affordable.
Go Rams!

Re: Backup QB
Clemens could definitely help get Bradford up to speed and wouldn't need as much coaching on the playbook himself, so he'd be able to step in easier if needed. Sounds like a solid choice to me.

Re: Backup QB
Stanton got traded so that is not an option, and Josh Johnson reunited with Harbaugh. The only option left is Clemens, who should be signed now. The Rams would benefit from drafting someone, or bringing in a UDFA because I don't think Brandstater is an option.
Spags was an idiot for releasing Thad. He should be on this roster.

Re: Backup QB
I agree with Clemens being brought back. The QB to draft is Brock Osweiler from Arizona St.
