Bengals sign former Rams starting left guard Jacob Bell to a one-year deal

Jacob Bell has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bell signed a one-year deal with the team. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Bell was the starting left guard for the Rams for the past four seasons. The Rams expressed little interest in re-signing Bell, who started 54 games in St. Louis.

He missed the last four games of last season with a knee injury.

The soft era is officially over. !! The bungles are going to get a big shock in short yardage. That's for sure.

Well this removes all doubt the we will need a G in the draft and a starting G no less. Options have Smith take a pay cut and move him inside. Leave Smith at RT and draft or find a starting guard late in FA. A Guard now IMO is a must. We should be able to get one in the second or third round.

Not sure this changes anything the Rams needed a guard... maybe if Blackmon is off the board the Rams move back a few spots and take David DeCastro. If not there are plenty to choose from.

I for one am glad to see Bell go... we needed to address the O line and now we will have at minimum two new starters.

Not sure if I have them rank right but there are plenty to choose from just get it right please, Les...

    First Round Guard
    David DeCastro
    Cordy Glenn

    Second Round Guards
    OG Kelechi Osemele
    OG Amini Silatolu
    OG Kevin Zeitler

    Guards Third Round
    OG Brandon Brooks

I thought the bell signing was a terrific move. He was the best guy available, well respected, at a position of obvious need. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bust.
