Best Case Scenario for the Rams @ 2?

Which of these Houston Texans first overall pick projections represents the best case scenario for the Rams and their second overall pick?

You can approach this in the context of them making the pick or having options to trade down, whichever you believe is the best case scenario.

I think this is the best choice, for a trade. Taking one of the QBs off the board drives the value up of the remaining ones. Also having Clowney onr the board keeps the option open for those teams that want what could be a great pass rusher.

Since we obviously are not looking for Sam's replacement, Houston taking Bridgewater (or the top QB prospect) is the best case scenario.

The more QB backs on the board when we draft puts us at more of a disadvantage than any other scenario IMO.

Clowney is the one guy who could draw a trade even OVER teh trade chart value, which would be a #1 and #2 this year, and the same in 2015 to move five spots down.

That's the chart, because future picks lose value over that round this year.

Can Snead work another RGII bounty for Clowney? Perhaps, but with so many QBs, it's less likely they can get that kind of deal for Bridgewater.

And that is why it's better for us if Houston takes Bridgewater.

My fear is that Houston will get the trade down with Atlanta because Clowney is a viable option for them. Not really with us because we are already among the best at his position.

What could really come back to haunt us is Jeff Fisher's public acknowledgement about Sam Bradford.

If Clowney's off the board, what team would want to trade with us knowing we won't draft a QB?

In that case, I believe Jacksonville would get the opportunity to trade down.

So don't be surprised to hear Sammy's rehab may not be going as well as we thought.

Matthews is the best pick for us, so trading down and still getting him is our best case scenario. I'm thinking the easiest way for that to happen is if Clowney is on the board and we trade down with Atlanta.

I chose sceario #2, that being said Bortles may be the better NFL QB. Just hoping the hype and desire for teams to get TB and Clowney is at a fevered pitch by the time our pic comes up. I want teams falling over each other for that pic! Then we could pull off a similar trade as the RG the third skinning once again, that would be optimum and prime ticket. A dream come true for drafts to come, we all want the gift that keeps on giving. LOL

Trading with the Rams may not be exclusively due to us taking a certain player, but getting ahead of someone else like Jax, Cleve or Oakland who are poised to take a QB or Clowney.

I voted None as it will be a matter of which teams want certain players that will determine our fate, which I'm very certain will be a trade. Sometimes I feel we can overthink these situations. but interesting poll nonetheless.

    Go Rams!

Well the way i see it is, we can't count on anything until we know what Houston will do. Since there's no clear cut pick for them, we may not be able to trade our pick prior to the draft like we did with Washington.

But at this point, I believe Clowney's availability is the key.

Hopefully Texans will make up their mind in advance. The draft falls later this year, so the new coaching staff will have some time to evaluate before the draft.

Actually, I would think Houston not taking the highest rated QB is more optimal for the Rams. Hope they screw up and leave the best QB and Clowney on the board for whoever wants to trade up.

IMO, if Houston takes Bortles, we are in the best shape.

Best case scenario for the Rams is the Texans taking a punter first overall

How about they just relinquish their pick to us altogether and add JJ Watt for our troubles?

I like how you think . I think a trade with them sending us JJ Watt and the 1st overall pick for the best punter in the game John Hekker would satisfy all parties.
