In your opinion, who is the best middle linebacker in this year's draft?
Is it the wild-man, high velocity, vicious Vontaze Burfict?
Or
Is it the savvy tactician, instinctual, can't miss, James Laurinaitis-like demeanor Luke Kuechly?
Or
Is it the sure-fire, athletic, ground and pound demeanor Manti Te'o?
In my opinon, it's got to be Burfict. The guy is just vicious. His attitude and mentality has been compared to Ray Lewis, while his technique has been compared to Patrick Willis.
If we win more games than expected, and put us out of the Alshon Jeffery/Justin Blackmon contest, I would consider drafting this guy and putting him next to Laurinaitis. They would be a wrecking crew.
i wish i could tell ya but i havent paid much attention to the lb class this year. the guy your talking about sounds nice though. a mauler would be a great addition. where is he projected to get takin?
He is projected anywhere from Top 15-25. He might move up or fall down, depending on the Combine, and if other teams might favor the other two linebackers more.Quote:

Burfict by far in my opinion. Hes an animal. I'd love to pair him with JLAU...That'd finally be a strength of the team.

Burfict doesn't get injured, he's the one that dishes out the punishment. As you can see from the video, he brings the hammer every single time. He will run over linemen, fullbacks, anyone. Scouts compare his instincts to Willis, and his closing speed to the ball is even better than Willis.
Burfict would definitely bring a new attitude and dimension to our defense, that's for sure. Combine him and JLau, and we get the consistent, reliable rangy field general in Laurinaitis, and the athletic, aggressive, hard-hitting demon in Burfict.

There's a lot to like about Burfict, but I wouldn't be shocked if Te'o or Kuechly end up having the more consistent long-term career at the pro level.
