    Re: Best Rams Draft Ever

This is like a trip down memory lane. I had to go with 1977 due to the number of good players in that draft. It seems to me in 77 we also took another RB named Peaco*k. Although, he didn't seem to have much success, I remember being excited about the Rams picking both he and Tyler up that year. All of those drafts had some great players that contributed. Rich Cody is the only name on there that I would consider a disappointment (so far).

I don't remember much about drafting Doug Flutie. Does anyone know why he didn't stay with the Rams? Who was our starting QB at the time? Didn't he wind up going to the USFL?

When the Rams took Flutie, he had already signed with the USFL. The Rams took him late in the draft so that they would have his rights (for some period of time) in the event that he decided to play in the NFL. He, of course, never played a down for the Rams.

    Re: Hasn't Happened Yet

Ok, whichever drafts led to the Super Bowl in 2000. After that, we need a defense and coaching overhaul for defense and special teams then we'll see some more rings.

    Hopefully the next one.

I believe Dieter Brock was the QB when the RAMS drafted Doug Flutie.
