    The "Best of the Rest" Among Remaining UFAs

    1. Jake Scott, OG, Indianapolis
    I can't imagine that the Rams will look to sign another starting OG, but Scott is the cream of the remaining crop.

    2. Chaun Thompson, LB, Cleveland
    Young, good size, and athletic. Has shown some flashes with the Browns. Could have some real upside.

    3. Michael Boulware, SS, Houston
    His stock took a major tumble last year, but he had some good moments in Seattle. Still a young player, and could be worth a look at the right price.

    4. Casey Wiegman, OG, Kansas City
    If the Rams are thinking of adding another veteran for the OL, Wiegman may be more in their price range.

    5. Clark Haggans, LB, Pittsburgh
    Not sure that the Rams really need a 30+ LB, but Haggans could be a good role player at the right price, particularly in 3-4 sets.

    we could sign scott and play cog at centre that would solve the OL problem ignoring money of course

    I'd look at Weigman as he'll be affordable and good veteran leadership under Saunders, and then maybe look at Boulware, as I never thought he was that bad in Seattle, their secondary overall sucked for a number of years, and apparently he didn't like his counter part much, as they didn't talk before the snap or something like that.

    An OL consisting of:

    OT - Orlando Pace
    OG - Jacob Bell
    C - Richie Incognito
    OG - Jake Scott
    OT - Alex Barron

    would be pretty scary in my opinion, providing they could stay healthy.

    Re: The "Best of the Rest" Among Remaining UFAs

    It appears that we've ignored our own Brandon Chillar in this thread. I believe that given the available OLB's he represents the best value for our money. We can draft an OLB and groom him for the future.

    As for the OL I favor signing Weigman for his veteran skills and the ability to keep Cogs at RG and back-up at center. Look at what the signing of McCollum did for us in '98/'99. A veteran at center is "priceless"

    What does everyone think?

    Go Rams!:r

    How about Rex Hadnot from Miami. He is just 26 yrs old. I saw a projection where they thought he would command about $5 million in guranteed $$$.

    LT= Pace
    LG= Bell
    C = Cogs
    RG= Hadnot
    RT= Barron

    Draft a OT in round 3. Go get a spped rusher in round 1 and a speedy wr in round 2. BPA in rounds 4-7.

    You will have a very young line with the exception of Pace and have drafted his replacement or Barrons in round 3.
