Best three year plan
We are all obsessed with this year's draft. What picks it would take to be competitive this year. Take a minute to step back and think long term. What's the best draft this year that would make us a great team three years from now.
Almost everyone, myself included, thinks OT is the obvious choice. OT, however, is the one position that needs the least transition time to get up to speed. Quarterback typically, Ryan is the exception, needs 2 to 3 years to be NFL ready.
So which scenario has the better chance to produce a great team three years from now?
Sanchez and a 1st round OT next year or the year after.
or
Monroe/Smith with a developmental qb in the 4th or 5th round.

Re: Best three year plan
Great Post but I have one more scenario... Take the OT in the first and forget about a QB until next years draft. It's much deeper at the position. This year we will be fine with Bulger & Boller...

Re: Best three year plan
It all depends. Since it's a theoretical question...Theoretically if Sanchez will become a Pro-Bowl QB, then I'd say grab him.
