Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
I want to root for Sam Bradford. I really do. I read so many good things about the kid, but I can't get over his durability issue. Some people believe it was a freak injury, but Bradford had injured his arm before this in a similar fashion. Bradford doesn't take a lot of hits or sacks, so why so many injuries? I can't justify putting a vulnerable QB behind the Rams O-line. He will get hit 4 times as often, and get hit 100x harder. Taking into account his history, and what he will have to endure on the Rams, Bradford doesn't seem to be a fit for us.
Say what you want about Tebow's mechanics or Clausen's attitude, at least they are use to pressure and can take a hit.Last edited by The Optimistic Lamb; -03-28-2010 at 03:41 AM.

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
From my understanding, the injury is something that an average person doesn't need however if you play a sport it's a good idea to get surgery so the risk of re-injuring the same shoulder is slim-to-none. Again, this is just my understanding of it from what I've read I could be completely wrong.

Always and Forever a fan of the St. Louis Rams

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
I personally think he will be fine. All players sustain injuries.
He doesn't look injury prone to me, and I do believe it is time for a QB.

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
why do we have to convince you. Any player the Rams select will come at a risk. No guarantees that Bradford will get hurt or stay healthy. All the Rams can do is let the doctors evaulate him and if the Rams feel he is the Johnnie franchise then so be it.
Go Rams

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
I've come to realize that you can't convince people in either camp that the other player is the right guy. Suh fans won't convince Bradford fans and vice versa. I keep telling myself that waiting one more year on a 'franchise qb' is suicide as much as drafting a possibly 'injury prone' franchise qb now.

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
Still not convinced. If we picked suh how is that as bad as drafting a wuss for a qb? Its not like were goin to win more games next year either way. You say he doesn't look injury prone. He took very few hits in college and basically played 7 on 7 with nfl lineman all around him for the first two years. I watched clausen take countless hits while throwing and hitting recievers. I think bradford is a bad idea and we are getting sucked in. I think the kid seems like a good person and is very athletic i just really feel like he won't fit here. I hope this bradford thing is all just a smoke screen to get someone to bite. I would rather have clausen, but really i dont think either merit our number 1.
SUHHHH OR BUST!!!!!!!

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
Allow me to pose for you a question:
Given the tone of your posts and your obvious disregard for anything anyone has to say about Bradford...why should anyone try and convince you? You call him a wuss in your posts...it's pretty obvious you're not going to listen to anyone and this is just a trap thread to attack Bradford and talk about Suh.

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
Nobody can promise you he won't get hurt. There really is no effective way to predict these things.
Dan Marino was hurt often in college, but was very durable as a pro.
Duante Culpepper is as big as a QB gets, but he was hurt several times as a pro.
Jeff Garcia is undersized, but has been relatively healthy as a pro.
Drew Brees had a terrible shoulder injury, but came back and won a Super Bowl.
Carson Palmer hurt his knee and has never been the same since.
There are no guarantees. All you can do is take the best calculated risk and hope for the best. Its up to you to decide whether you think Bradford is worth the risk.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
Wow, some hostility from the clanram...
This is not a trap thread. I am sincerly open minded about all the players in this draft and the reason I post my arguments is so that someone will prove me wrong, or prove me right. Either way is good.
Now about Bradford:
I'm not concerned about if his shoulder will heal. It will, and he will have a magnifiicient pro day. I'm concerned with this pattern of injury and the likelyhood of it happening again. I dont believe it was a freak accident. Is there some explaination as to why Bradford gets hurt while Tebow and Clausen do not?Last edited by The Optimistic Lamb; -03-28-2010 at 04:29 PM.

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
i laughed out loud when i read this...
Freak accidents happen all the time and whether you decide to believe it is or isn't doesn't matter. Clausen actually did get hurt and it was his toe. Does that mean he has weak toes? probably not, could have happened when he tripped over a pebble on the sidewalk or bent it awkwardly. People get hurt all the time and its a flip of a coin whether or not it happens to you..
you slip on a small squirt of Sprite your annoying nephew didn't clean up and break your thumb while stopping yourself. Are you injury prone or weaker than the next guy, probably not, you just got screwed by fate. Love him or not, I hope you still give him your support when he's wearing number 14 in blue and gold...

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
ill sure as heck root for him if he is our qb, but there is just a toughness factor that i don't see with him that I see with a guy like mcnabb or even clausen or locker. We are going to need a qb that can move and he hasn't shown me he knows how to move in a pocket and find his lanes or read plays from the line. when he did play teams that got pressure he couldn't win either game(2008_2009 season:texas and florida) This guy needs development and not 6-8 weeks. Probably a year or so imo.

Re: Bradford Fans, Convince Me!!!!
I believe Claussen got tore tendons in his toe and his still recovering from that. I also believe Tim Tebow suffered a pretty bad concussion. QBs besides the ironmen Farve and Peyton Manning. All QBs are all susceptible to big hits at some point regardless of the o-line. With those hits comes a risk for injury.
As for pattern there is no pattern. He got injured, played again when the injury wasn't fully healed and he got re-injured. He is recovering right now if he isn't 100% he is close to it.
