Butler ends visit, but St. Louis Rams still hopeful
PER Jim Thomas
Free-agent strong safety James Butler apparently left St. Louis without a deal with the Rams on Saturday. The sides remained too far apart in negotiations. According to league sources, the Rams are still hopeful that an agreement can be reached.
Meanwhile, a news conference is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday to formally announce the signing of center Jason Brown.
As for cornerback Ron Bartell, the negotiations are in overtime. At least check, Bartell was still in New Orleans completing his visit.

With the Postons as agents, this shouldn't be a surprise. The sides remained too far apart in negotiations.

Yea, I would be surprised if they get a deal with the Browns even. Even though he is leaving St. Louis, we still can get him. It is just going to take some time. Especially with the Postons as agents.
