Buzz building that Rams will deal up

    Per Evan Silva of Rotoworld

ESPN's Todd McShay said he's hearing "a lot of buzz' about #Rams trading up for Tavon Austin.
Very very interesting. Is it 8 yet?

    Full write up

ESPN's Todd McShay stated on SportsCenter Thursday he's hearing "a lot of buzz" about the Rams trading up for Tavon Austin.
Meanwhile, colleague Adam Schefter is reporting the Rams have put the No. 22 pick up for sale, perhaps in order to recoup some picks they'd surrender in a trade-up for Austin. St. Louis would have to get in front of the Jets to safely secure Austin. Moving from No. 16 to No. 8 might cost St. Louis both of its other top-80 selections (Nos. 46 and 78). Throughout the pre-draft process, it's been clear the Rams covet Austin. But that's a very steep price.
Ok now that may be a steep, unrealistic price a 1,2,3.

Considering we dropped from 6-14 last year and only got an extra 2, I think that would be more realistic (our 16 & 46).

What makes this particularly annoying is, if the Rams don't trade up (whether or not this "buzz" is accurate), guys like Silva will report: "the Rams tried very hard to trade up to acquire Tavon Austin but failed to make a deal."

Then, the Tavon Austin/Rams fans will cry "they didn't try hard enough!"

I like Austin, I think he'd be a fine pick @ 16, and as a WVU alum, it'd be really fun to have him on the Rams and cheer him on much as I did Marc Bulger. But I don't like the idea of trading picks to move up and take him, and if you can't get the West Virginia alum on board with that idea, then you've got a problem.

I could go on, but one question that I keep coming back to when it comes to the Rams moving up to Austin is this: if the Rams are intent on trading picks to move up and take Tavon, why did they work out DeAndre Hopkins twice in the last week or so? That doesn't seem like something you'd see from a team that has fallen in love with Austin and plans to move up to get him.

You bring a guy in twice within a week as a smokescreen? Not sure I buy that.

Yeah, reflecting off that mirror over there.

I'll give the Rams credit, they've got rumors, buzz, and misdirection all over the place, with the media eating it up and doing their bidding. I wouldn't expect anything less from Fisher and Snead.

Tavon Austin - WR - Player

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, West Virginia WR Tavon Austin is the No. 1 overall player on the Bills' draft board.
Austin is screaming up everyone's draft board, so this is almost certainly a smokescreen from the Bills. If they can trade back in the first round and still get their man in Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib, it's a win-win. The Jets, picking at Nos. 9 and 13, and the Rams at Nos. 16 and 22 have both been linked to Austin.

This makes sense to me... nice try

This is exactly why we shouldn't draft him. I don't want any screamers. Shows how immature he can be. Really, he should be asking politely, not yelling and throwing a fit.

McShay's not "hearing" it, he's "creating" it.

I guess it WAS something you'd see from a team that planned to move up and get Austin!
