Re: Can Anyone Stop the *****
Everybody likes the moves they are making. They said they were going to be active and they are. This is a team that was only a game behind us last year and now look at them. Not to mention they still draft ahead of us and they'll probably take a guy we're looking at! I'm sorry but I can't stand watching us sit back and wait thinking there's hidden gems out there.

Re: Can Anyone Stop the *****
When the Rams brought in several FAs last year, I said it would probably take a season to get the new players, the new coaches, and the rest of the team all on the same page. The same thing applies in San Francisco. There's a new and inexperienced coach calling the shots, and the FO wants to add 3-5 more starters. Quite frankly, I'm concerned that it's going to take awhile to get everyone playing together.
Supposing the defense is good, there's still the offense. Our OC just left and we now will have an unproven guy running the show, we just cut our best WR when our WR corp wasn't scaring anyone to begin with, and this is still our starting RT.
There's a long way to go until the season starts, with more FAs becoming available and the draft. I wouldn't worry just yet.
I didn't buy him as a quarterback. He's just so stiff, especially when he drops back to pass. Really stiff. He reminds me of Kurt Warner.

Re: Can Anyone Stop the *****
Nate Clements was disgustingly overpayed for. Disgusting.

Re: Can Anyone Stop the *****
Guys, let's not discard the fact that BIG contracts have absolutely no correlation to BIG performances. San Fran is bringing in some heavy hitters and have already landed one big fish and another good sized fish........but games are still played on the field by men who don't wear their paystub pinned to their jersey.

Re: Can Anyone Stop the *****
Well, the whiners were salary cap broke for awhile and mediocrity happens when you misjudge the importance of the salary cap. With the expanded cap and cutting salaries the last few years (Peterson for example) the whiners finally have the money to get competitive again.
Clements is good but is he worth that much? time will tell.

Re: Can Anyone Stop the *****
The good news is that the Niners have all this cap money to spend, and the desire to spend them, in a very poor FA year. As a result, they are getting good players, but are overpaying. If any one of these players gets injured or doesn't play as expected, that's going to be a lot of unproductive cap dollars.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Can Anyone Stop the *****
They are improving a defense that was not very good last year.
The Rams defense was horrible and we have made one move. I would like to see the Rams make a push today and grab some defensive help. Where is the DT help?

Re: Can Anyone Stop the *****
Well, technically, it would be Leonard licking his chops......Harris is a RT, Jennings is their LT. However, if the whiners double Little like every other team on our schedule, it's a moot point. Some combo of Vic/Hall, Glover/Wroten, Kennedy/??? better start taking up excess blockers or finding their way into the backfield next season.

Re: Can Anyone Stop the *****
actually i would prefer Okoye in the first, his penetrative skills will mean that at least one of Hall, Little and Okoye gets doubled, leaving at least one of the other two one on one

Re: Can Anyone Stop the *****
At the end of the day I don't care what the Niners do,an open cheque-book is no guarantee for success in the modern NFL ie.Redskins.We are shaping up quite nicely,thanks..:l
