Last I checked, Scott Wright of nfldraftcountdown.com doesn't even have him ranked in the top 20 QBs. So, yea, Ryan "might" be available at the top of the 2nd round.

Also, I wonder why this list doesn't contain Levi Brown.

Well, first I think we have to distinguish between how many teams do I think could go QB in the first round, and how many do I think will take a QB in the first round. Because I think you answered the former rather than the latter.

I think that Cleveland, St. Louis, Washington, Buffalo, Oakland, Seattle, San Francisco, Jacksonville, Arizona, and Minnesota are all possible first round destinations for quarterbacks. But they're not likely all going to take one, as that would mean ten quarterbacks would go in the first round.

If I had to guess right now, I think four quarterbacks will go in the first round - Clausen, Locker, Bradford, and a fourth contestant. Wouldn't be surprised if it's Tebow, but I think McCoy or Pike could sneak in there. Or, we could be looking at a 2006 situation again, where three guys go in the top 11 picks and then another QB doesn't come off the board until the second round. Ultimately I think it's going to depend on how scouts view McCoy and Pike.

I think McCoy will be there, in the end. I'm just not sure he's physically talented enough to make it into the first round. Though as I said, he may sneak in with a team like Minnesota near the end of the first round.

    1. Jake Locker, Washington (JR)
    2. Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame (JR)
    3. Sam Bradford, Oklahoma (JR)
    4. Tony Pike, Cincinnati
    5. Colt McCoy, Texas

    6. Jevan Snead, Ole Miss (JR)
    7. Tim Tebow, Florida
    8. Tim Hiller, Western Michigan
    9. Todd Reesing, Kansas
    10. Zac Robinson, Oklahoma State
    11. Rusty Smith, Florida Atlantic
    12. Max Hall, BYU
    13. Daryll Clark, Penn State
    14. Thaddeus, Lewis, Duke
    15. Juice Williams, Illinois
    16. Ryan Perrilloux, Jackson State
    17. Riley Skinner, Wake Forest
    18. Matt Grothe, South Florida
    19. Chris Turner, Maryland
    20. Bryant Lee, Southern University
    21. Curtis Pulley, Florida A&M
    22. Jarrett Brown, West Virginia
    23. Kellen Lewis, Indiana
    24. Tyler Sheehan, Bowling Green (got list from NFLDRAFTDOG.COM)
I don't know about Peyton Manning potential, but I've bolded the names of the guys whom I'm at the very least interested in. I'm also intrigued by Sean Canfield of Oregon State and John Skelton of Fordham, who don't appear to be listed. Dan LeFevour is noticably absent as well, but I'm kind of indifferent on him.

Okay can we stop having the same thread over and over again?

How many differnt thread do we have to discuss a 2nd round QB just because someone wants Suh, G. McCoy, or Dez Bryant

Isnt there a thread on this same topic.

I think a Mod should just sticky this topic of a 2nd round QB

I am completely shocked you like Brown. Never would have seen that one coming.

If Ryan Mallett comes out, I'd be extremely interested. In late rounds, I like Bill Stull but he's a project.

Joking aside, have you had a chance to watch Brown much this season? He's had some consistency issues but he has a very intriguing combination of size, mobility, and arm strength. He'd be a nice mid-round option, IMO, though most fans will probably want to see the Rams use a pick on a QB earlier than when he'd be in consideration.

    ALL AMERICAN? Umm, no.
He was High School Army/Navy All-American and dominated this game on National TV and considered the NFL prospect QB of his class.

Go find the tape if you don't remember..

    Actually good suggestion. WHy not

So one prior discussion and you feel it should never be revisited. If you find this frustrating then you may want to avoid the clan during the off season especially around draft time. I'm pretty sure this discussion and many more will come up again and again and again........

It's not that I want Suh, Bryant or anyone. I take the stance that unless Peyton Manning is coming out then using such a high pick is too risky and expensive. The Rams have to be certain that a franchise QB is being selected with this pick. I've seen some of the top QB's play this year and unfortuantely I do not see alot of seperation from 1 to 6 top QB's. Thats my 2 cents you can spend it anyway you want.

    Oh, I see, a....high school All-American. Ah.

Seeing as how he's done nothing with his time in college, I'd probably pass on him.

There's a long way to go, of course, but at this stage I'd say that it's one of Clausen, Locker and Bradford or nothing. There's a huge drop-off after these three.

It also sounds like Case Keenum of Houston is looking at entering the draft. Not sure how I feel about him though. Smallish at 6'1'' and just over 200. Also I'm pretty sure he's a spread O guy, which I don't like.
