CAP NEWS EVEN BETTER FOR 2015 and 2016

Cap could hit $160 million in 2016 | ProFootballTalk

    $145 million in 2015 - $12 million boost
    $160 million in 2016 - $15 million boost

This changes everything, until it all kind of equalizes with top guys getting bigger deals.

The next two years, it means fewer cap cuts, and teams not getting worse because of the cap.

It means the Rams can sign anyone that wants to come here, and pay the market rate, as far as one or two top FA.

This is very good news for a team who will have lots of good young players become FA soon.

It means teams can move 2014 cap hits to 2015 and 2016, with no future issues for doing it.

It also means, unfortunately, that teams like Seattle and San Francisco, who were living on borrowed time until their young stars' rookie contracts expire, receive a great deal of relief as well.

That's OK, you don't see great teams really getting in cap hell for awhile anyway, and Seattle is a very young team with oretty good cap room. They won't be forced to lose anyone they can't afford to anyway.

I would rather have the Rams be able to keep their guys and add a stud or two this year, than worry about how other teams get hurt.

And regardless of that cap jump, Russell Wilson and Earl Thomas are gonna use a ton up.

Right now, Seattle is $16 million under the cap, and don't apper to be spending big on Tate or Bennett, their top FA.

Next year they will let aging DE Chris Clemons walk and lop $9 million plus off their cap this year
They may also let Averil walk if they add DE in this draft as expected. That adds anoter $9 million over this year.

Unger, Harvin, Zach Miller and Okung's deals call for $6 million LESS in 2015

Lynch goes up $2 million in the last year ofhis deal, but his 1st year cap number wioll be lowered with a new deal.

If the Rams are gonna pass Seattle, or at least get equal, it would not have been a cap issue in Seattle doing it.

The Niners and Cardinals are aging teams, and those guys will get worse from attrtition and loweered level of play due to age.

Not sure where you are getting your numbers but I see Percy Harvin with a cap hit of $13,400,000 in 2014 and $12,900,000 in 2015. that said a lot of the numbers you post are not correct according to....
