Carl Nicks?

I see where Carl Nicks OG is a free agent next year is there any way he don't resign with New Orleans? I think he would be a huge improvement for this team next year if we could sign him. If we could dump Bell and use some of the savings toward Nicks that would be ideal IMO.

The Saints made Jahri Evans the league’s highest paid guard just recently, so it’ll be interesting to see what price tag Carl Nicks commands. Nicks is a good notch below Evans, though still one of the league’s best guards. If Nicks continues his annual improvement, can the Saints really afford to have two of the highest paid guards in the game and afford to re-sign one of their two left tackles?

He is a real mauler and would help open some holes for Jackson.

Why get rid of Bell? Why not have him replace the aging Goldberg and make our offensive line one of the best in the NFL?

Kind of what I was thinking, but at some point, they might not be able to put another big money contract onto the offensive line, considering Bell, Brown, and Jason Smith are all making top dollar.

I agree with both of you and that was my line of thinking Nick. In order to get Nicks we might need to dump some salary from the OL and Bell is not living up to that fat contract IMO.

I'd like to see John Greco given more of a chance before splashing out on another expensive acquisition via free agency. If Greco doesn't make the grade, by all means go for someone like Nicks.
