Re: Carriker to be traded
hope we get as high a pick as possible..
none of the reasons he didn`t make the grade with us were his fault..i wish the kid all the best..apart from when he plays us.
good luck AC.

Re: Carriker to be traded
Well, that's a tough break. When healthy, he played well. I hope the best for him.
"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Carriker to be traded
I was hoping it would be a Carricker for Campbell swap.
I think he'll do well in the new 3-4 D over in DC.
Wish him the best, he was miscast here, not his fault.

Re: Carriker to be traded
I'd rather move up spots in the 5th round than just cut the guy. Don't really see how it's such a horrible deal.

Re: Carriker to be traded
The Rams acquired a 5th round pick. They exchanged Carriker for a 5th rounder, they didn't exchange 5th rounders for Carriker.

Re: Carriker to be traded
Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports despite rampant speculation that the New York Giants are planning to trade DL Osi Umenyiora during the NFL Draft, two league sources insisted Monday, April 19, that the Giants are not actively shopping the defensive end.

Re: Carriker to be traded
Well, someone has the story wrong here.
The PD's version:
Adam Schefter's version:Rams get a 5th for Carriker
By Jim Thomas
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
All offseason, Rams general manager Billy Deavney has showed no hesitancy towards shooting down one erroneous trade rumor after another. With one exception: Devaney never denied reports about a possible trade of defensive tackle Adam Carriker to Washington. And on Tuesday it happened: the Rams traded Carriker, a first-round draft pick in 2007, to the Redskins. The Rams confirmed the trade, but did not announce the compensation. But the Post-Dispatch has confirmed through league sources that the Rams will receive a fifth-round pick from Washington.
The Rams now have three picks in the fifth round: No. 132 overall (their original pick); No. 135 overall (from Washington), and No. 163 overall in the Will Witherspoon trade with Philadelphia last year.
The Carriker trade gives the Rams two of the top four picks in round five.
“We do have some depth at defensive tackle,” Devaney said. “This gives us some flexibility in the draft to maybe maneuver, makes some moves on Friday and Saturday.”
The Rams re-signed defensive tackle Gary Gibson on Monday. On Tuesday morning, starting defensive tackle Clifton Ryan re-signed his tender as a restricted free agent.
Carriker missed the entire 2009 season with a shoulder injury suffered in a preseason team scrimmage at Lindenwood University.
To acquire Adam Carricker, Washington swapped spots with St. Louis in the 5th round for the pick the Rams had from the Eagles.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!
