Chargers want to save money and add more picks, heard this on NFLN. Any interest? What would it cost to move up and get that spot? Would a 3rd and 4th do it?

No I don't want to give up our second and a fourth. I want to keep our second at #33.Quote:
Just our 4th round alone should do it to move from #33 to #27.

We'd have to trade our second away.
Thanks Milan
Not quite, next year picks are generally treated as mid round picks(16 or 17th) as you don't know where they'll be. The value for pick 27 this year would match up just about perfect with this year's 3rd and next year's 2nd.
For the extra 6 spots, it's not worth it unless someone majorly slips.
I agree. I woud like to add three players that will have an impact, this year.Quote:

Maybe Dorsey falls like a rock, and we move up and grab him like AZ did with Branch last year.
Wishful thinking, especially since Branch was borderline top 10 last year, not presumed #1 pick. I don't see Dorsey falling too far, even if his legs are still question marks.
Well, that kind of depends on who is valuing the future pick. Some teams split teams into quadrants based on how they expect to finish next year and assign value to the pick as if the pick will come from the middle of that quadrant. Other teams split the league 3-ways, and others in half. So unless the other GM expected the Rams to finish in the middle of the pack next year (we can only hope), the '09 2nd and '08 3rd would still be a little pricey.
But ultimately, you're right......why would we even consider it unless there is some targeted player that will be gone between 27 and 32?
I still think we can get who we want at 33 instead of trading a pick for 27.
I agree moose, especially as we need to add more picks not use them go gain ever so slightly "better" but less talent.
If anything, I'd like to trade back from #33 to deeper in the second and pick up some choices. There quite possibly will be a QB(Brohm, Flacco) available that someone will want.
Kenny Phillips, Sam Baker, Carl Nicks could be there and maybe Phillip Merling or Jeff Otah
Kenny Phillips and Quentin Groves would be my choices at #33, providing they were there.
I don't know if the RAMS would even let LINEHAN trade next years picks if he might not be here and sattle the next coach with a sub- draft . i was all for trading back in rounds 2-3 for some extra late stuff , but only if we can staill target a needed differance maker . we all know the first 2 rounds have to be right on or we'll never hear the end of it and it might furthure damage the team , but i doubt it .
