    Charles Davis: Mock draft 5.0

    PICK NO. 1
    HOU
    JADEVEON CLOWNEY DE SOUTH CAROLINA
QB is still in the discussion in Houston, but it will be difficult for Texans to pass on draft's best pass rusher.

    PICK NO.2
    STL
    GREG ROBINSON OT AUBURN
It will be a tough choice with Sammy Watkins still on the board, but elite OTs are hard to find.

    PICK NO.3
    JAC
    KHALIL MACK OLB BUFFALO
Fans will clamor for QB Johnny Manziel or WR Sammy Watkins, but Jags go with nasty defender.

    PICK NO. 4
    CLE
    SAMMY WATKINS WR CLEMSON

Expect the Browns to address QB need later, adding a passer to throw to this dynamic star from Clemson.
    PICK NO. 5
    OAK
    JAKE MATTHEWS OT TEXAS A&M
Too good a player to pass up here ... still believe UCF QB Blake Bortles is under consideration.

    PICK NO. 6
    ATL
    TAYLOR LEWAN OT MICHIGAN
OT is a must for Falcons, but if Mack is still available ... in any event, Lewan brings toughness desired by Atlanta brass.
    PICK NO. 7
    TB
    MIKE EVANS WR TEXAS A&M
Vincent Jackson gets his "Mini Me" (OK, not so Mini) running mate.

    PICK NO. 8
    MIN
    C.J. MOSLEY ILB ALABAMA
So much discussion about a QB going here, but with new head coach Mike Zimmer, a longtime defensive coordinator, in town, a defender gets the nod.
    PICK NO. 9
    BUF
    ERIC EBRON TE NORTH CAROLIN
Hard to pass on the chance to help young QB EJ Manuel with this talented Tar Heel.

    PICK NO. 10
    DET
    AARON DONALD DT PITTSBURGH
Unexpected, but the 2015 option on starting DT Nick Fairley's contract was not picked up this offseason. CB or safety could be the pick here, as well.

    PICK NO.
    11
    TEN
    DEREK CARR QB FRESNO ST.
Hello! Big noise will be heard at Radio City Music Hall if the Titans make this pick. Some see QB Teddy Bridgewater getting picked here.

    PICK NO. 12
    NYG
    ZACK MARTIN OT NOTRE DAME
Giants continue to retool offense, and need to keep Eli Manning protected. Martin can play LT or OG.

    PICK NO.
    13
    STL
    JOHNNY MANZIEL QB TEXAS A&M
Despite the need for a WR or safety, Rams opt for the former Aggies playmaker.

    PICK NO. 14
    CHI
    HA HA CLINTON-DIX FS ALABAMA
Bears seeking patrolling free safety to combat passing attacks of Green Bay and Detroit. Clinton-Dix fits the bill.

    PICK NO. 15
    PIT
    JUSTIN GILBERT CB OKLAHOMA ST.

My top-ranked CB heads to the Steel City to fortify a secondary that needs supporting.
    PICK NO. 16
    DAL
    ANTHONY BARR OLB UCLA
One of the top pass rushers in the draft and a bargain pick for the Cowboys, who might make him a full-time DE.

    PICK NO. 17
    BAL
    CALVIN PRYOR FS LOUISVILLE
Seen as an enforcer, this Louisville Slugger can also roam in coverage. Will pair with last year's first-round selection, Matt Elam.

    PICK NO. 18
    NYJ
    ODELL BECKHAM WR LSU
Jets need a "jet" to help loosen coverages for WR Eric Decker to exploit underneath.

    PICK NO. 19
    MIA
    BRADLEY ROBY CB OHIO ST.
Has been steadily rising in recent weeks. He can be a complete CB, and is very good on special teams, too.

    PICK NO. 20
    ARI
    BLAKE BORTLES QB CENTRAL FLORIDA
Current starter Carson Palmer says that he's OK with his replacement being picked. Cards GM Steve Keim obliges.

    PICK NO. 21
    GB
    AUSTIN SEFERIAN-JENKINS TE WASHINGTON
Packers buy into getting the 2012 ASJ model -- a dynamic, physical, fast player with big-time hands.

    PICK NO. 22
    PHI
    KELVIN BENJAMIN WR FLORIDA ST.
Not the speedster that many anticipate, but it appears that the Eagles are seeking size, too.

    PICK NO. 23
    KC
    BRANDIN COOKS WR OREGON ST.
Cooks' 4.33 speed in the 40 is exactly what Kansas City needs to continue to open up its offense.

    PICK NO. 24
    CIN
    DARQUEZE DENNARD CB MICHIGAN ST.
Bengals are only too happy to welcome him as they continue to fortify their talented defense.

    PICK NO. 25
    SD
    KYLE FULLER CB VIRGINIA TECH
To beat Denver, you must match up with their pass-catchers, and Fuller has the size and toughness to do so.

    PICK NO. 26
    CLE
    TEDDY BRIDGEWATER QB LOUISVILLE
QB is the pick now, and Bridgewater is eager to prove he should have been the first QB off the board.

    PICK NO. 27
    NO
    LOUIS NIX NT NOTRE DAME
In the NFC South, Atlanta, Carolina, and Tampa Bay will seek to run. "Irish Chocolate" helps discourage them from using that plan.

    PICK NO. 28
    CAR
    MARQISE LEE WR USC
The history of USC WRs with the Panthers has not been great, but this is a player that Cam Newton will welcome.

    PICK NO. 29
    NE
    RA'SHEDE HAGEMAN DT MINNESOTA
Pats always believe they will bring out a player's full potential, and Hageman has plenty.

    PICK NO. 30
    SF
    RYAN SHAZIER OLB OHIO ST.
Niners select speedy OLB, who might convert inside ... just as NaVorro Bowman did out of Penn State.

    PICK NO. 31
    DEN
    JOEL BITONIO OT NEVADA
Smart, tenacious OT who can play OG, too -- the pressure Seattle applied in the Super Bowl lingers.

    PICK NO. 32
    SEA
    XAVIER SU'A-FILO OG UCLA
One of my favorites, his physical nature fits perfectly into Seattle's philosophy.

So... Yeah... Johnny F. Football... Thoughts?

Re: Charles Davis: Mock draft 5.0

At some point I feel like these writers get so tired of doing mock drafts that they're more tempted to make some wild picks to either stir up conversations or keep their sanity.

    Oh my, Charles Davis.

Credibility is a terrible thing to waste.

I would laugh so hard at all you Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray SNL Satirists... If CD is correct and your the ones drinking the spiked coolaide come draft day and we come away with Johnny Football! LOL
What would be really worth a thousand words and would send the Greek Fleet off is the look on Slingin' Sammy's face when that went down! Now that would be fun to see hope someone has a film clipping of that! Too much fun that would have to be shared with the fan base! Go Rams!

Before I even opened this I was going to comment about him being the worst at this.

He is the worst at this.

Re: Charles Davis: Mock draft 5.0

So every CB on board, all the safeties and that is the direction he thinks we would go??? In the timeless words of one Dr. Evil. "rriiiigghhhhhttttt......"

Seriously though if you are going to do a mock just to shake things up with no real purpose behind it, just don't! Unless there are some developments that can pose some interesting thoughtful conversation just skip the throwing dart style of mocking a draft.

He might as well have said...

With the 13th pick, I project that the Rams will select: a video of Erin Andrews taking a shower.

I mean... if you're just going to go for shock value and publicity, why not go all the way?

With how popular Erin has become I would be surprised it that is not available on the net for free AvR! Please don't waste a pick even on the lovely Miz Andrews Vids! LOL

Wow. Funny vids - nice job.

OK, we're not in Colorado or Washington anymore so (assuming this is a pick response vs. a Manziel response), if he's there (won't be, but if), in the second, what then?
