Cheifs trying to trade Bowe? Should the Rams make an offer?
Just found this on another board:
@ RUSSLANDE just told us that the Chiefs tried to trade Dwayne Bowe yesterday, but nobody was willing to offer a first round pick for him.
The Chiefs fans think if the Rams offered a 2nd and maybe a 4th they would take it. Question is, do you think Fisher/Snead would make that trade?
I don't see how they can trade him yet since he hasn't signed his franchise tender but maybe they could get something worked out before the draft starts tonight.

I would love to have bowe, but you have to tell me how much money he wants. I dont want to pay him 10 million a year if thats what you are asking, but i would pay significant money for him and trade one of the lower #2 picks.

I can't say what kind of money he is looking for but I don't think the is going to get 10M from any team. If however, the Rams could work out a contract with him and then offer the Chiefs one of their second round pics, like maybe #39 and then their 4th rounder I would do it in a heartbeat.

I dont think this has any merit for our football team. But hey if he's not wanting 10 mill a year and it's a possibility why not? he is young and talented enough.

I'd play hardball because the Chiefs are in a pickle with him. Wait until after today and see what the market for him looks like. I think we can get him for less than a 2nd round pick. He will want big money and that will push a lot of teams away either because they don't want to pay it or they are too close to the cap. we can still draft Reuben Randle and deal from strength on this one. Les is a pretty good trader, he'll make the right call I believe.
Go Rams!

Re: Cheifs trying to trade Bowe? Should the Rams make an offer?
I'd offer a 3rd and 7th right there and thats it. If they don't want it, they can keep Bowe. Obviously they are showing no interest in keeping him.
Randle to me looks just like Bowe, and we can have him with #33 so I wouldn't give a premium pick for Bowe.

Re: Cheifs trying to trade Bowe? Should the Rams make an offer?
A big part of me would love to have Bowe as he has shown flashes of great play during his short career. His inconsistency could be due to the lack of one QB behind the center for KC so I give him some benefit-of-the-doubt. I think Sam will match-up ideally with a bigger WR who has long arms like Bowe. If the price is right, I say go for it.

Same problem as with Mike Wallace.
Can the Rams afford the draft picks necessary to obtain him? Probably.
Can the Rams afford to pay him what he wants to be paid? Probably not.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!
