Re: Chris Long is gone. What then?

I say take JAKE LONG , plug him in at RT and let BARRON take a seat behind PACE and see if ORLANDO is totally healed . If PACE is having issues keep BARRON for a year and trade him for picks , or if PACE is fine and ahead of schedule , trade BARRON " NOW " for some picks to someone who is in dyer need of tackle help and use that pick or picks to draft another TACKLE or DE to have for depth .

Any of the four would be great, however this is a Ram organization that has Zyggy employed.

That being said, if the Rams screw this draft up only two worst things come to mind.

    1. The Celtic Women make a CD singing AC/DC's Greatest Hits.
    2. Brittney Spears makes a CD of her favorite Gospel tunes.

I believe beasley is widely touted the top rated player? I'm not a huge NCAA hoops follower, though.

    ----

I have opted for Jake Long, as I'm more confident in his abilities to produce on our team than I am in Dorsey (due to the players we have already at his position) and Gholston (Due to his percieved boom/bust status...I'm more inclined to call it football purgatory).

With that said, I'll have few objections if the pick is Gholston. I'll go on the record in saying that I do not want Glenn Dorsey as a St. Louis Ram for the reasons aforementioned, but if he is the pick I'll learn to live with it, as he has the potential to be great.

I voted for Jake Long and then hope we take Lawrence Jackson at #33 in round 2 as a DE.

    Go Rams!:r

No one has told me about the Chris Long snow cone drills or how Gholston did on the ice cream cone.

It's very close for me between Dorsey and Gholston.

I chose Gholston though, I also see him as the most risky pick out of the top players we're looking at but I give him the edge because DE is far and away our biggest position of need and because he brings a world of potential as a speed rusher which is exactly what our defense needs. I would be more comfortable with Chris Long as I believe he is a safer pick, but if he's gone you take the 2nd best DE and that is Gholston.

DE is such a HUGE need for us, we have to get a top DE and the only place to get one is the draft, all great or even good DE's get locked up FAST by their teams before they hit free agency.

I strongly believe bad planning is also why DE is such a HUGE need today, we should have picked up someone one or two years ago and developed him so he'd be ready to play just about now. But we have completely ignored DE in many drafts (who was the last DE we grabbed with a high pick (say first 3 rounds), Hargrove in the 3rd round, who else the last 5+ years?) and it's biting us in the ass today. Not good long-term planning by the front office, you need to be one step ahead and everyone could see we would end up sorely lacking DE's even two years ago.

:lI would Draft DT G. Dorsey !

With OT's deep in this years draft why take J.Long in Rd 1.

Does Everyone think DT L. Glover will play forever ?
Will DT Claude Wrotten finally improve or be suspended again ?

I don't think Rams will take Gloston at #2. They could trade down a couple of spots and try to get him then .
