Re: Clayton's Quick Hits - Rams trying to sign OT Matt Willig

I just feel he's always out to suprise. Last years surprise I liked (Stephen Jackson) many others I didnt i.e. (Crouch,Canidate).
    Amen, brother.
    You mean the Shanahan factor.
Good analogy. Boy, if you could mesh the best of Martz w/ the best of Shanahan...oh excuse me got off track
My question right now is what is our bigger need in Martz's mind? Our offense did have success last year but our defense outright stunk.
Great question, miser. But was the offense successful enough for Martz standards?
Thats another reason why I think we might go defense at 19.
Miser, history is certainly on your side. The last time our defense was this bad, we spent all 5 (including 3 in the 1st) Saturday picks on defense.

Which is why we shouldn't assume the Rams' draft priorities are changing or moving away from OT if Willig is signed. He might not even make it out of camp with a numbered jersey from us, and he's certainly not a long term option. I don't think this hurts their chances of drafting OT at all.

Heck, the Rams could be doing this to make other teams think they are not going to draft an OT in Round 1 so that they won't trade up in front of them.
