    Completely and totally disappointed

Consider my faith in the Rams front office completely shaken.

The Rams just did the following (in non-football terms):

    At pick 8
Paid $50 for a fun-size snickers bar, which while tasty won't last long.
Also, I'm now convinced that Buffalo's GM has pictures of Snead and Fisher having sex with farm animals. But hey, who needs a second round pick anyway.

    At pick 30
Although they really needed a hammer (and there was a damn good hammer on the shelf), they decided to buy a wrench instead. You know, because it's a good wrench, and what value!
They'll just have to find some other way to pound those nails.

i know no one will agree with me on this, but that's ok. As long as Austin never takes a direct hit and Ogletree always carries the number for a cab everything will be just fine.

As I said, I expect no one to agree with me.

I don't have a problem with Austin the player, I have a problem with the ridiculous price they paid to select him.

Also, I understand that Jeff Fisher isn't afraid to take players with character issues, but that doesn't mean you have to take EVERY player with issues. Ogletree is a very good football player, but is also a knucklehead.

He's taken Pacman and Jenkins in 16 years.

Your reaching a bit, and given how the draft went, you haven't said who you would have taken at 16.

    Also, who is the "hammer"?

I would have loved Austin at 16. If he weren't there I would have tried to trade back.

The hammer is Matt Elam. (I know my opinion isn't worth much, but I think safety is a more pressing need than linebacker at this point).

Seems like your in the minority Rosie, almost every draft expert on TV and the internet is applauding the Rams on their draft. Not only did we draft the most explosive player in the draft (Austin), we were also able to trade down from 22 and still get the most athletic and highly rated LB in the draft with the 30th pick. I do hate parting with our 2nd round pick in the trade with Buffalo, but the Jets were poised to take him with the next pick and Fish/Snead had to make the necessary moves to get their guy.

    Re: Completely and totally disappointed

If we were like, a player away from being championship contendersI wouldn't mind the high price so much, but we're not one player away. That second round pick could have been a high quality contributor to help get us over the hump, now he'll be helping Buffalo instead.

i don't mind being in the minority, sometimes it's ok not to follow the herd (not that the herd would have me anyway).

"Wont last long" whats that supposed to mean? Austin has never missed a game, or even A PRACTICE.

Before trades: Rams had 4 Day 1/2 picks
After trades: Rams have 4 Day 1/2 picks
