    Country Rams Draft 4/19/07

    2007 Rams Mock Draft

-The St. Louis Rams trade 3[84] and TE Joe Klopfenstien to the Carolina Panthers for DT Kris Jenkins.

-The St. Louis Rams trade 1[13] to the Tennessee Titans for 1[19] and 2[50], the Titans select RB Marshawn Lynch.

    1[19] DE Jarvis Moss* [Florida]

The Rams address the DT spot with the Jenkins trade and turn their attention to the pass rush. The value at 13 is not there in positions where the Rams are weak so they move back and recoup picks. Moss has the size [67 258lbs.] and speed [4.7/40] to have an immediate impact rushing the QB.

2[50] DT Tank Tyler [NC State]

Even with Jenkins the Rams could use some youth and size in the middle of the defense. Tyler who is 62 310lbs. has the squat build that makes him an ideal NT.

    2[52] CB/S Tanard Jackson [Syracuse]

Jackson brings size [6 200lbs.] and hitting ability to either the S or CB spots and allows the Rams some serious flexibility to the Rams secondary.

    4. LB H.B Blades [Pittsburgh]

Blades might be small [6 240lbs.] but he is a tackling machine and can produce on special teams while he is groomed for the defense.

    5. RB Darius Walker [Notre Dame]

Walker is a nice compliment to the much bigger Jackson. Walker is a slippery runner and great receiver out of the backfield.

    6. OT Corey Hilliard [Oklahoma St.]
    Hilliard is a versatile OG/OT.

    7. C Kyle Cook [Michigan St.]

Cook adds depth and big game experience to the OL.

    7. DE Jay Richardson [Ohio St.]

Richardson is a big DE who can come in and stop the run.

Curious, have you seen any articles or know anything about us moving to a 3-4 Defense?

I like this draft but I would rather take Anderson at 1[13] if he is available and then take Tank Tyler at 2[52]. I like the later picks but I think the area of kick returner would need to be adressed in one of the middle rounds, I'd like to bring in a corner who could handle those duties.

smizz hit the nail on the head. was jamaal anderson on the board when we traded down? If he is on the board, i dont want to trade down unless its a spectacular deal.

the draft looked decent enough...not sure if tank tyler will be there when we select in round 2 tho!

also cannot promote the trading of klop i really believe he is gonna be an elite TE in the near future and would hate to see him being that elsewhere once weve coached him up!

I'm so glad that most of us are on the same page. You just can't trade down when there is talent like Anderson still on the board. If all of the big four are gone: Okoye, Anderson, Willis and Landry, then I think its a hell of a draft.

I love the O line depth.

    Yeah...It's OK.

I'm not too fussed on trades. I say #2 for Jenkins and be done with it.
