with culpepper being released soon....
i see the raiders picking up culpepper to reunite with randy moss to make an explosive combo... then with the first overall pick the raiders take a page out of the rams book and select joe thomas with their first pick( if they trade out of the first spot or not)... With this selection the raiders would have a good young offensive line along with a qb that has something to prove once again...
LT- Joe thomas
LG- Cooper Carlisie
C- Jeremy Newberry
RG- kevin boothe
RT- robert Gallery
I trully believe this is whats going to happen as the next couple of weeks play out...

Re: with culpepper being released soon....
i agree that culpepper is going to be released, but i dont see how he is going to be throwing to moss anytime soon given the current status of his knee. I think that if the raiders dont take russell, they will take calvin johnson, rather than the olineman. Remember, they just got torched with the robert gallery pick. If they dont take qb, they take the safest guy possible, and that is calvin johson, the bluesest chip prospect in the last several years.

Re: with culpepper being released soon....
I don't think the raiders would take culpepper and then pass on russel, no one even knows if culpepper can get back to his old self. I think theres more chance of the raiders taking johnson then drafting drew stanton in the second

Re: with culpepper being released soon....
Shouldn't this thread have "RUMOUR" put in next to it... although I'm not sure its a rumour but more of a specualtion.... perhaps "speculation" should be next to it.

Re: with culpepper being released soon....
not really, because there have been reports from reliable websites that Culpepper is going to be released from Miami
I think Culpepper could easily end up as a starter somewhere, but considering his injury problems the team he plays for will have a rookie QB on the roster to learn behind him. But If Culpepper ended up at the Raiders it allows them to put off taking a QB until a later round, maybe a guy like Troy SmithDolphins | Culpepper's days with team numbered

Updating a previous item, Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper's days with the team have become numbered, according to those within the organization with knowledge of the situation. Culpepper will either be traded or released in the coming months.

Re: with culpepper being released soon....
How about this:
- Miami releases Dante.
- Oakland trades Moss to GB their young backup QB
- GB picks Dante up as a backup.
Dante then gets time to heal all the way up behind Farve, and then steps in next year (2008-2009 season) throwing to Moss again...This space for rent...
