    Curtis Lofton

Would this guy be a good fit for us at Linebacker. I know he is an ILB, but what do you guys think about going after him for one of our OLB positions

Well Les would know best if he thinks he can make the conversion, we should definitely kick the tires.

    Re: Curtis Lofton

I think he'd be a good pickup. He's always put up nice tackle #s, so I was surprised that Atl was letting him go. From what I've read, its because of contract demands and that he struggles in coverage. I'm not sure if our bargain hunter front office would pay him enough, if he's just a 2 down LB. However, if he or Laurinaitis could play WLB, I think he'd really improve our run defense.

First we experimented with refugees from the NFC North to compliment Laurinaitis and the end results were one of them being released during the season and our former 7th round pick doing an average to above-average job. I think it's time we find an intuitive, hard-nosed OLB to the draft, not some refugee from the NFC South.

I think we should get out of the mindset of finding a good MLB and trying to convert him. Let's focus on finding some good OLBs that don't need converting.

Agreed, I think if we can find an OLB that plays great at OLB that is for the best. Lofton is defniitiely the best LB left, so I was just wondering what you guys think. And after seeing your guys reply, I think it might be smart to let ILBs be ILBs and OLBs be OLBs

Now that is some out of the box thinking!
