Dallas CB Jacques Reeves to visit Rams

Quote:
Looks like backup cornerback Jacques Reeves will be pretty busy the next couple of days.

Reeves, who started 13 games in 2007, is an unrestricted free agent. He has plans to visit Houston, New Orleans, Kansas City and St. Louis.

Reeves is looking to become a starter at one of those places and after 14 passes deflected and one interception several teams believe he can do it.
From the Dallas Morning News.

Re: Dallas CB Jacques Reeves to visit Rams

We have Hill, Bartell and Brown

Reeves isnt better than any of them, and we still have Jon Wade to see how he gets on

Re: Dallas CB Jacques Reeves to visit Rams

Unless the rams have made a decision to make HILL and BARTELL the starters and WADE a backup . maybe BROWN might be on his way out of town . i know his drug thing was last year, but DEVANEY just got off the VICK wagon train and might not want that kinda problem with this team .. keep an eye on WROTEN .

I myself like the idea of moving ERIC BASSEY into the mix and have the first 4 cb's as . HILL - BARTELL - BASSEY - WADE .

Re: Dallas CB Jacques Reeves to visit Rams

This guy is 2nd rate at best IMO, he regulary got toasted on quite a few plays last year. I watched the Cowboys a bit last year and the major weakness on their defense was in the secondary with Reeves and Williams regulary getting picked apart. Thanks but no thanks Jacques..

Re: Dallas CB Jacques Reeves to visit Rams

He'd be perfect for the Saints... showed just enough to get them to sign him and then sucks all over the field for them. We have enough corners, we need a freaking SS! Can Reeves play pro-bowl SS?

Re: Dallas CB Jacques Reeves to visit Rams

P.S. The answer is no. Reeves sucks, I should know, as I watched way too many cowgirl games last year Watching him and laughing was the only way I could stand watching.

I've heard he's one to stay away from, and will get ridiculously overpaid this offseason.

Has it ever occurred to anyone here, or at Rams Park that Hill, Bartell and Brown might be the worst group of STARTING corners in the NFL?

Does anyone care? Anyone? No.. okay, then never mind! It's been this way since Anneas and Bly left. Before anyone mentions a lack of pass rush you gotta understand that great corners can cause coverage sacks. I mean, if a reciever is open in 4 seconds, because our corners suck, then who cares about pass rush at that point?

I've said it the last 2 years and I'm saying it again. Cornerback is our biggest weakness on the team. PERIOD.

Then you haven't been paying attention. Brown was among the league leaders in pass defenses despite only play 12 games, ahead of guys like Champ Bailey, Shaun Springs, Fernando Bryant, and Ty Law to name a few. Bartell was fine against slot receivers and we really don't know what Hill has because he's got about 16 games of starting under his belt.

Conversely, we haven't had a decent pass rush in years and last year was the first time that we'd stopped the run in about a decade. If you think the defensive line is in better shape than the secondary, then you're just off base.

Re: Dallas CB Jacques Reeves to visit Rams

i THINK WITH SOME PASS RUSH THAT THIS SECONDARY COULD BE VERY VERY GOOD and maybe even surprise a few of us . i dodn't think we are far from having a top 10 secondary . but thats just my opinion .

Re: Dallas CB Jacques Reeves to visit Rams

Guys, thankfully we dont have to worry anymore.

Per Rotoworld:
Quote:
Texans signed CB Jacques Reeves.
We've heard some positive comments on Reeves, which is surprising. His numbers suggest he was one of the most picked-on corners in the league. Houston badly needs depth with Dunta Robinson hurt, but they should hope Reeves has a small role.
