Daniel Jeremiah expects Rams to take WR in 1st round

    Quoting his Twitter...

The Rams have been doing extensive homework on several top WR's. I'll be shocked if they don't take one in the 1st rd.
Jeremiah is currently a contributor on NFL.com and NFLN. He has previously been a scout for NFL organizations.

I hold Jeremiahs opinion in high regard among the draft community throughout his short stint as a NFLN analyst. Considering there are THREE receivers under contract, I myself would be stunned if one of our two first rounders isn't used on a WR.

If Fisher and Les truly believe in Quick then I can see us not taking a WR in round one. Quick, Givens and Cook (slot). Pettis as the swing guy can play slot and outside.

I would not be shocked if the Rams wait until the second round to draft a WR. Jones and Green are not in this draft and we would not have a shot at them if they where. Austin is very interesting and Allen is very polished. That said not sure either one would have the impact that a first round pick should have. It's not like there is not going to be some solid players in the second or third round.

    Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
    Robert Woods, WR, USC
    Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech
    Stedman Bailey, WR, West Virginia
    Da'Rick Rogers, WR, Tennessee Tech
    Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State

I agree with you Rambo's. None of the WR's in this class are that true #1 threat you expect from a first round pick. The value in this draft for WR seems to be in round 2 as you indicate. As much as I have been on the Keenan Allen bandwagon we'll have to see how his 4/11 workout goes to learn if he's fully recovered from his injury. Yesterday's USC Pro-Day caught my eye for Robert Woods who was at one time (pre-season for college) the #1 rated WR in this draft. He will not be a #1 but he can play either side of the line and he can provide punt returns plus he seems strong enough to battle for contested catches.

All the talk about Tavon Austin doesn't convince me he's not a luxury for us. He could be a really good player, but he's too risky based on his size and weight. We need some big physical WR's and that's how Jeff Fisher has been building this team, regardless of position. The %'s are not in Austin's favor, in my mind. Time will tell.

    Go Rams!

I like Woods too 8352, I am more a UCLA fan but watched Robert W. for a while now... He runs good routes, gets open has really excellent hands and makes plays on the ball! He might be available even into the third round. If we can trade that second first rounder back and pick up an extra 3rd & or 4th that would be nice for this draft as I really like alot of upper mid round picks in this draft! I am excited to see how Fish, Les and Dems manipulate this draft. I am greedy and want extra players from this years exciting crop of prospects...
