All indications are that a deal is imminent between the Rams and center-guard Jason Brown that will land the team the first free agent of the Steve Spagnuolo coaching tenure.

That would really be something, to catch one of the biggest fish in the FA pool. A young guy, who already has established himself as a solid starter and will only get better. IMO this signing speaks volumes about how our organization is viewed to the players. If a young guy, who is coming into his prime, wants to play for us it sure looks like we are on our way back to respectability.

Heck, with an o-line consisting of Pace/J Smith, Bell, Brown, Cogs/Greco and Barron (or J Smith), I could probably make some decent runs!

I wouldn't put too much into him supposedly "not wanting" to play for the Rams. Those are the reporter's words, not Brown's. I wouldn't be surprised if St. Louis isn't on the top of his list, for obvious reasons.

If they can get him signed, I'll be stoked. Devaney is obviously living up to his word about wanting to beef up the team. The Center is usually the lightest guy on the line, but Brown weighs 330 pounds! That would make him the largest guy on the line. Compound that with the fact that he's still young, coming into his prime, and I absolutely love this signing.

Man if this is true, scratch 1 need off the laundry list and this sets us up nicely for the future. Adding a center of his caliber to even an poor-average O-line can do wonders.

Would he really visit St.Louis on the first day of FA if he didn't want to be here at all?.

If he wanted to send a message to let's say, the Ravens, he would. Regardless, if he signs with the Rams, he'll assimilate just fine once the ink is dry. It all could make for an interesting introductory press conference.
