He was traded October 7th so he played many games before going to New York and dropped many, many. many, passes.

D. Anderson can play in the NFL if given the right system and support of a team and it's fan base.

I really don't see a reason to bring Anderson in, especially since we've already signed a back-up. He doesn't seem like a quarterback who's going to do much on a poor team. His best chance is probably with a team like Arizona, where he's surrounded by a good amount of talent. I don't know how anyone can look at what he did in Cleveland and conclude he's going to be able to do much more here.

Anderson's stats from this last season, for those who are curious. Taken from an article on NFL.com.

"In seven starts last season, Anderson completed just 81 of 182 passes (45 percent) for 888 yards and three TDs with 10 interceptions."

Edwards played the first four games for the Browns in 2009 before being traded to the Jets. Anderson played in only two of those games, starting only one. In those two games, Edwards was targeted 11 times and caught three of them.

Even if you assume all eight of those incompletions were drops and the fault of the receiver, that doesn't significantly change Anderson's numbers. It would mean he completed 89 of 182 passes, or 49% instead of 45%. Plus, after Edwards was traded, Anderson went 44/115 (38%), 527 yards, 2 TDs & 6 INTs.
