Devaney actively seeking WR help
Rams GM Billy Devaney is actively seeking wide receiver help, but he doesn't want to "just sign somebody because we have to have somebody."
"We're not kidding anybody," Devaney said. "We need to add some numbers, whether it's a veteran in the next couple weeks. Whether it's through the draft. Whether it's after the draft." While Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton have promise, the Rams' receiving corps is currently rivaling the Jags' for shallowest in the league.
I think that answer is round 2 in the draft for sure...lol
Kenny Britt@!

What's your source for the Devaney quote?
Re: Devaney actively seeking WR help
Re: Devaney actively seeking WR help
who got it from the P-D today:
"We're going to probably incorporate some wishbone this year," Devaney said with a straight face. "You only need one receiver on the field if you're going to run the wishbone. We haven't told (Marc) Bulger that yet."
But seriously ...
"We're not kidding anybody," Devaney said. "We need to add some numbers, whether it's a veteran in the next couple weeks. Whether it's through the draft. Whether it's after the draft. We'll be bringing some people in at some point. MORE RAMS
"And just because you recognize a certain position where you need help, we're not going to training camp next week. So we've got time. We don't want to just sign somebody because we have to have somebody. We want to make sure we get the right guys. Nobody's fretting about it at this point."
Oooh...keep yer stinkin' Wildcat, we gonna go wishbone...lol
Re: Devaney actively seeking WR help
I would love me some Reggie Williams...
Re: Devaney actively seeking WR help
I really want Heyward-Bey on this team. Of course, he's probably going to be gone when we pick at #2. But if he is available, we better jump on that.
As for free agents, Reggie Williams sounds good. Sure, he's lost productivity, but there hasn't been an elite WR in Jacksonville in a while. Maybe he can bring something to this team.
Re: Devaney actively seeking WR help
D.J. Hackett and a rookie would be nice
Re: Devaney actively seeking WR help
I herd Heyward - Bey had hands of stone but real fast. Thats OK track stars that catch 1 out of 3 balls are for the Raiders. Go with Britt or Robiski in 2nd.
Re: Devaney actively seeking WR help
I totally forgot about Ronald Curry. He could be a great addition
Re: Devaney actively seeking WR help
Matt Jones out of Jax IMO would be an outstanding pick.
Re: Devaney actively seeking WR help
I guy getting caught cutting up lines in his car at 4 in the morning in Fayetteville, AR isn't exactly the 'Character' kind of guy that are new staff is looking for. He'd be a great role model for Avery and Burton, ya think?? Get serious... Reggie Williams would be a nice, cheap addition though. And if we are going Wishbone, then we don't need a WR that bad. I wouldn't spend an early draft pick on a WR this year. We don't need one that bad if we are running the WCO. Then we can get one early next year or find our #1 in the FA. But OT and MLB need to be our first 2 addressed. And DT is up there with those as well.
Re: Devaney actively seeking WR help
I don't get it?!
Reggie Williams, Ronald Curry, Matt Jones, D J Hackett? What have these guys ever done that makes them valuable to us at all?
If our choices are any of those 4 or the draft, I'll stick with the draft.
Someone slap me please!!!!:D

I find that qoute ironic, considering that I would argue that mabye just 3-4 years ago we had one of the deepest in the league
