Re: Different Approach Mock
I really like a lot of this...especially the Vollmer pickup. Vollmer and Womack together would be awesome, that would make me so happy. But with our 16th pick would he be there? If he is thats perfect. Over the last month i've been watching tape on top WRs, Safeties, and TEs. And reading up as much as possible. Gonna start getting into drafts now that we have a great front office. I would like to think along as well :)... I like Hopkins.
If we get Womack at 1, hopkins after isn't bad. If not, then in our top 3 picks, we have to come out with a combo of:
1. Keenan Allen, Cordalle Patterson, Justin Hunter, Hopkins or any WR, or Tyler Eiffert
2. Matt Elam
3. BPA Offensive Linemen
Not in that order, but if we don't get womack. Those 3 would be clutch with our top 3 picks. Especially if we get Vollmer. I like the fact even more he is RT and can be a great combo with Saffold.
Re: Different Approach Mock
not bad, i could live with it easily. :)
Re: Different Approach Mock
I think Sebastian Vollmer will be too expensive for the Rams. They don't have enough salary cap gap to work with. I would love it if the Rams could trade down and pick up an extra third round draft pick, because I think Fisher and Snead would probably the same player they want with the 28th pick that they would get the 22 pick. Was that your thinking on trading down Sosa39?
Re: Different Approach Mock
That looks good, but I think you may have a few "risers" listed.
For example, you have Hopkins in Round 2 and Bell in Round 4. I won't be surprised if they rise to 1st and 2nd/3rd round picks, respectively.
I've been promoting Fauria for a while, so you know I like that pick!

I got to agree. Other teams will notice how Hopkins and Bell are worth round 2 and Round 4 picks. Mr. Mild Mannered Mod would you contrast Faruia, Eifert, and Ertz for me? I am a fan of Eifert sure hands. He never drops passes. What would Faruia bring to the Rams that Eifert or Ertz would not?

Yes that was my reasoning behind the trade down.

Eifert and Ertz are more complete TEs, in my opinion. They are both good receivers and can also block (although Eifert missed on one badly yesterday against Alabama).
Fauria is more of an Aaron Hernandez type. He's best suited to play in the slot and create mismatches in the passing game. He's not known for his blocking skills. As a receiver, he also reminds me a bit of Jimmy Graham.

I think all of them are very similar. They are all 6'6+, but Eifert is going to be drafted in the first round, Ertz in the second, and Fauria in the third.
If it was just a straight up choice I'd take Eifert for sure, but we're trying to get value and pick a player with massive potential in a later round. Fauria can develop into a Gronkowski type of player. Big matchup nightmare, same goes for Ertz and Eifert. Eifert could even play outside the numbers, very impressive.
Re: Different Approach Mock
i think i'd go with ertz, i think he's more athletic than eifert, and with maybe slightly better hands
eifert i've been "meh" on, he seems more of just a possession tight end and is tall..that's it
after watching the first quarter and a half of last night's game, idk about eifert now, sure, last night was just one game
but it just helped with going with ertz imo
