Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
He is great but most likely this would be his last year cuz he does not want to be a Ram.
I could see a potential trade of:
Eagles get:
Torry Holt
Rams get:
Lito Sheppard
6th or 7th round draft pick
This would work perfectly for the Rams since we need another Cornerback to go along with Ronald Bartell (hopefully re-signs).
Then this would set up us drafting Micheal Crabtree in the first round.
Since Alex Barron and Orlando Pace both still have 1 more year left on there contract we are going to have to trust them (please dont kill me now) And we could easily take Max Unger in the 2nd round he is a Center out of Oregon

Re: Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
As I've said in other posts/threads, if we can get some value out of a trade, then I'm all for it. We have a lot of needs, and some promising young receiver talent.
Torry's heart didn't seem to be in the game,or with the Rams for much of this past season. Maybe a new coaching staff will help invigorate him. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!

Re: Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
I don't think Holt has any trade value right now. He's coming off a poor year, has knee issues that seemingly have affected his speed and ability to separate, and he carries a large salary. If I'm one of the other 31 teams in the league and I have any interest in Holt, I hold off to see if he's released. No way do I trade a pick AND a player for him.

Re: Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
I don't think we can afford to "trust" our current o-line any further. Change is needed. Drafting Max Unget isn't really going to help our tackles. We need a solid blocker to start on the right side, and eventually move to the left side when Pace retires. After we get a tackle, THEN we can focus on a guard or center.
I don't see any team really willing to trade for Holt, and plus, I think Avery, Burton and Stanley can use his mentoring because they have a long way to go to being a real threat.

Re: Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
Crabtree is overrated , and why do we need another corner ?
With Spags Def. we need a LB, DT, and a pass rush before a corner....
Our secondary was young and played well with bartell and Otagwe on the field ., plus justin King will be back
Secondary depth is a luxary in this years draft
If we trade Holt for Lito and a pick we still won't take crabtree
sometimes I wonder how many of you even watch all the games or just highlights on ESPN

Re: Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
Crabtree is still not a good idea. OL, DL or a Lb(if we move down) would be great for our first pick.

Re: Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
The most we could get for Holt is a 4th rounder, and that only if he agreed to re-structure his contract as part of the trade.
The only other possibility is if he gets in some serious trouble with the law (preferably gun charges, but drunk driving or drug charges are ok too), the Cowboys might be interested in him and give up a 2nd.

Re: Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
Whats the bare minimum you would trade Holt for? I only ask because people keep saying "if the price is right" at what price would you pull the trigger?

Re: Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
I really hate to say this..............but looking at the rebuilding ahead and his condition.............I'd trade him for cap space (meaning I'd release him). Give him an opportunity to go somewhere and try to make an impact. Give the Rams the opportunity to spend money elsewhere on a greater need. And no, if he is released I still wouldn't want Crabtree.

Re: Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
Doesn't really make a ton of sense to restructure when he this is his last year on his deal. At this point his value isn't as high. He will get released or will play out his contract. Plus in the WCO he won't have to rely on the speed he once had, but rather his route running.

Re: Do u think the Rams should trade Torry Holt?
The only way Holt has trade value is if you restruture his contract. Then, if you still want to trade him . How about straight across for Lito sheppard or a 3rd round pick. Most teams will wait until he's a cap victom and released.
If dreams were possible.
I would love to trade him to a contender so he could go out a winner.
The Rams have a couple of years of rebuilding.
